IslandSomething went wrong, please try again later. Something went wrong, please try again later. Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have been inseparable since the couple hooked up within days of starting the ITV Love Island dating show. And while neither of them came close to turning their heads from new bombshells, there was tension between the pair on the reality show. Her fellow islanders aren't entirely convinced that the two are truly a match - and neither are viewers of the show. However, Gemma, 19, and Luca, 23, seem doting and have repeatedly declared their love. Let's take a look at the couple's relationship to date, from Gemma's mum's comments to their "childish" arguments ahead of Monday night's grand finale... The pair have many things in common, from a love of banter to a wry sense of humor . When they're not playfully hugging, or better yet, Luca clinging to them at every opportunity, they're stealing little kisses or giving advice to their roommates. But Gemma isn't shy about putting Luca in his place, or at least making him work hard to get her affections. The two are now mutually exclusive after Luca addressed three very big words to Gemma after the couple's first date outside the villa, during which they enjoyed a seaside picnic, sipped drinks and discussed the possibility of a future together. The romantic exchange was started by fishmonger Luca, 23, who uttered the words "I love you" while sitting on the patio after returning to the villa. But instead of getting the answer he wanted, Gemma replied: "That's really crazy to hear." Luca persevered and nudged his partner to try a different answer, leading to her finally saying: " I love you too." Sitting in the beach hut afterwards, Luca left viewers in tears as he admitted it was "one of the best days of my life." Gemma has previously mentioned Luca's behavior could make her "sick" if she met him outside the villa. The dressage champion made entry into the Love Island Beach Hut after witnessing his "Dad Dance" moves during Becky Hill's performance segment. During a montage of Luca's rendition of "The World's Best Dad Moves," Gemma looked embarrassed as she joked, "Luca's dance moves... if I'd seen him out there without knowing him, they would have given me a nauseous start before that." Gemma has never given Luca any reason to doubt her and has always dealt with her issues calmly. It seems Luca has projected his own insecurities onto Gemma, especially when it comes to being loyal and trustworthy in a relationship. However, his behavior has forced Gemma to justify her actions, even when she believes she has done nothing wrong. Gemma always finds herself trying to calm his paranoia when it comes to her loyalty to him. While Luca has been grinning like a Cheshire cat at the revelations from all his fellow islanders, his smile quickly faded when he saw a clip of cheeky, grumpy Billy and Gemma seemingly having a flirtatious conversation, in which Gemma quipped: "Friends can't Hug'. Luca threw a tantrum after Billy told him, "A guy wouldn't try if he didn't think he had a chance." Those were exactly the words Luca needed to hear to convince himself that Gemma was actually actively flirting with Billy and that he was right all along. Gemma was visibly upset by what Billy had said to Luca about her behavior and was desperate to mend the rift that had been caused by Mad Movies night telling him to 'get over you' . Luca was accused of pushing Gemma into a challenge where the ladies at the mansion competed in a Mile High Challenge while pretending to be stewardesses and strapping the boys in their seats. However, when it was Gemma's turn, the fishmonger wasn't too pleased to see Adam Collard licking her. This resulted in Luca moving her away from him when it was his turn to be buckled. Speaking to Luca about his reaction after an epic argument, Gemma said: "You can sit here and say you're not in the mood, you're in the mood. This has led to Luca's family being quick to release a statement about his actions. It's crazy intense environment where emotions are amplified. So proud of how vulnerable and in touch with his emotions he was. The family added: "First I have to admit he's a little f**k but really don't feel like he's wrong here at all. Gemma and Luca have been pretty stable throughout their time at the villa. However, Gemma's mum Louise Owen broke her silence after Luca and Dami apologized to Tasha after going "too far" in the Snog Marry Pie game. During the final episode, Tasha broke down in tears over her "nasty" comments, with the boys later admitting they went "too far" in the challenge. Gemma's mum Louise wrote: "I hope Tasha is ok I feel it's getting close to bullying now which is so sad to see this," followed by a heart and teardrop emoji.
