3 things we learned at Chicago Bears training camp, including David Montgomery's newfound motivation

Chicago Bears rookie Jaquan Brisker continues to earn the trust of coaches with his feel for the game and talent for making plays. (Author: Gardener)

ChicagoThe Chicago Bears completed their third practice session at Lake Forest training camp on Friday, with many notable moments on the field and in the press conferences that followed. When Kyler Gordon, a rookie defender, intercepted a pass from Justin Fields in the red zone at practice's first team rep, Brisker made a mental note. "Yeah," Brisker said with a big smile, "I'll be careful. When he got the first one, I was like, 'I've got to get one now. Brisker later hit a red zone pick of his own, disguised his cover and then grabbed a crucial break on a Fields pass to tight end Cole Kmet near the goal line. "Cole crossed my face," Brisker said. I made sure I caught the ball and just carried it into the field. "I felt like I was back in high school," he said. "I just wanted to get my hands on the ball again." [ [Don't Miss] Chicago Bears Rookie Report: Learning Curves for Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker, Velus Jones and Others in Boot Camp ] After an impressive spring, Brisker continues to gain his trust coach with his flair for the game and talent for plays. Bears coach Matt Eberflus has made it clear that Brisker will be a week one starter and is confident that practice production of safety will carry over into games. "You can just see it," said Eberflus. "I'm a guy who looks at 'gear changes' where he can really accelerate and then [shows] body control after doing that to make plays. Some guys are fast but they don't know how to control their body to make the games. Montgomery voluntarily shared that information Friday, citing it as added motivation for him to continue pushing to be the best in himself throughout his NFL journey. "I'm looking forward to being a father," he said. "So it's just about making sure I'm the best version of myself to my girl and also being prepared to be the best dad I can be too." Montgomery is entering senior year of his rookie contract, ending a 2021 season in which he contributed with seven touchdowns for 1,150 yards from scrimmage. Still, Montgomery appears to have an important role to play up front and is preparing as usual, unperturbed by the new coaching staff's continued praise for his professionalism. "It's definitely good that someone recognizes it," Montgomery said. "At the same time, it's all about being a professional and that's exactly what I'm supposed to do. You don't get treats or coupons for being a pro. Either you're a pro or you're out of the NFL. I think I want to choose to be a pro." [ [Don't miss] Justin Fields makes progress on Luke Getsy's new Chicago Bears offense, but, "We still have a long way to go"] Montgomery said, Eberflus ' Constant emphasis on rush and intensity was welcome, but that personally , he also has other means of dodging complacency. "I remember not having many (scholarship) offers from high school," he said. I remember when I entered college I wasn't supposed to play as a freshman. And I remember when I came out in the draft, I got passed over a couple of times. Any concerns about getting his second contract? "I have a firm belief that God will take care of whatever He is asked to take care of," Montgomery said. Eberflus conceded center Lucas Patrick will be out indefinitely with a right hand injury. This is a first look at the coach's handling of injury information - foot on the accelerator on the freeways of the Evasive Highway. [ [Don't miss it] Chicago Bears center Lucas Patrick is expected to have right-hand surgery ] Offensive tackle Teven Jenkins, for example, missed his second straight practice session on Friday, and Eberflus declined to say whether the absence was due to injury or Illness was related or something else entirely. "He's working through something with the coaches," said Eberflus. Eberflus was similarly elusive about cornerback Thomas Graham, who is yet to be on the practice field this week. "He falls into the same category," said Eberflus. "We will not comment on the injury or anything like that." "I don't want people in our division and I don't want people in the league to look at our roster and say, 'Hey, they're going to do this and that' with injuries," he said. "If you don't have to report an injury now...why would you? In the case of Jenkins, Eberflus was reminded that the offensive tackle sophomore missed all of training camp and the first 11 games of last season after suffering a back injury that required surgery. "I understand the concern," said Eberflus.

Sunny and almost 90F Thursday

Another warm summer day is expected in the Twin Cities on Thursday under sunny skies. - DJ Kayser (Author: Gardener)

ThursdayThere won't be much to complain about across the state on Thursday, other than maybe the warm temperatures. Predominantly sunny skies are expected across the region, with highs typically in the 70's and 80's. In some areas of southern Minnesota, elevations could exceed the 90 F degree mark. Looking around the Twin Cities throughout the day, morning temperatures start out at around 70°F, with highs rising into the upper 80s at 90°F. Temperatures will climb even higher on Friday, hitting mid-90s lows in the Twin Cities before we see a cooling trend into the weekend behind a cold front that will stretch into Saturday. Sunday's highs will be in the mid-80s. Taking a closer look Friday and weekend, we'll see a slight chance of showers (and maybe a thunder roll or two) in southern Minnesota from the Twin Cities south. There is a slightly better chance of thunder rolling in the Twin Cities on Saturday before dry weather is expected on Sunday. While we could take advantage of the rainfall across the subway — and we could see some in the Friday-Saturday time frame — less than a quarter of an inch is expected to fall. Heavier rainfall levels are possible into far southeastern Minnesota with a potential of over an inch through Monday morning. Some of the storms south of the subway on both Friday and Saturday could be on the strong side, with marginal risk (threat level 1 out of 5) on Friday and the equivalent of slight risk (2 out of 5) on Saturday. Hail and wind will be the main threats from strong storms on both days, but a stronger wind threat could emerge on Saturday. Meanwhile, the state may be in for a whiff of a mixed temperature forecast as we near the end of the month. The 6-10 day temperature outlook, covering the period July 25-29, shows chances of above average temperatures in southern Minnesota but below average temperatures in the arrowhead. Something to keep an eye on - and at least there is a part of the state you could drive to if you want to cool off a bit as the forecast highs for that period in Duluth (up by the airport) may not be as high as the 70s ! Leave it to the meteorologists to make you feel worse than you thought possible. heat storms. The heat spike that swept Europe with all-time records and temperatures 30-40F above average came suddenly, like a traditional storm. Extreme heat, gusty winds and low humidity ignited wildfires. Power outages compounded the sauna-like misery, bringing back memories of the 2021 Pacific Northwest heat storm and a similar event that killed 730 Chicagoans in 1995. We're getting a glimpse of our new normal: dangerous, superheated bubbles of air unusually far north, compounded by a warming climate. Expect a comfortable Thursday (dew points in the 50s) with less wind before returning to the low 90s on Friday. The Twin Cities National Weather Service shows a 30-50% rainfall deficit over the southern half of Minnesota since late May. We need 5-6" of rain over a month to emerge from the drought. Some cold fronts will drop south and east across the central and eastern United States on Thursday and bring the possibility of showers and thunderstorms. Record highs will still be possible in parts of Texas. While most areas of the nation will see less than 3 inches of rain by the end of the week, some of the heaviest rains could fall on parts of the Southeast. Google and Oracle data centers melt in UK heatwave More from Protocol: “Google and Oracle data centers in the UK struggled to function on Tuesday as record temperatures continue to heat Europe. According to Google Cloud's Service Health page, as of Tuesday morning, one of its London buildings hosting cloud services for one of its Western European regions was experiencing a "cooling-related outage." The company shut down services in part of that region to fix the problem. Meanwhile, Oracle faces similar problems. The Service Health page says it is working to fix the cooling system at its London data center and has shut down some of its services to "prevent uncontrolled hardware failures". Oracle said it expects service to be restored today.” Extreme rains will be worse and more frequent than we thought, according to new studies The supervisor told him a story about Queen Victoria, the monarch who ruled the British Empire for the most part of the 19th century ruled. The Queen was walking the grounds of one of her palaces, accompanied by a scientific adviser, when she noticed that it was raining heavily in one corner of her garden but not at all in another corner. "Since then, Imperial meteorologists have been trying to figure out why extreme rainfall can vary so much," said Studholme, who is now a researcher at Yale University. "Only now are we really getting the technology to answer that question." Earlier this month, Studholme and three colleagues at Yale published a study that seeks to refine our understanding of extreme precipitation now and in the future. She and other researchers suspect that the trick to accurately determining the magnitude and frequency of extreme rainfall isn't just measuring and tracking rain; it also depends on how researchers model climate change.” NYC subway floods show our transportation systems aren't climate change ready More from Gizmodo: “Torrential rains swept over New York City yesterday, inundating streets, highways and subway stations. Areas of the city saw record rainfall of about 3 inches in an hour, and Central Park recorded its most rain on any July 18 since records began in 1869, NY1 reported. The Bronx was one of the hardest-hit areas of the city, and the A train did not run for several hours while MTA crew members worked to clear water from the train's tracks, NBC4 News reported. America's public transportation systems are not prepared for the climate crisis. C. flooded several subway stations and streets, flooded platforms with water and tumbled down escalators." How to be more productive on social media

Save time and money by using these tools to discover and manage social media... (Author: Gardener)

Anyone who has invested time managing and building a social media following knows that it can create a time vacuum. Social media marketing is an important part of customer acquisition and sales strategies. You need to focus on running your business and minimizing the time spent distributing content until you can afford to hire someone to manage it all. How can you save time managing your social media? Social media admins can save time by managing their channels with third-party apps. You may find that one app works for Facebook, but you prefer another for Twitter. The right apps will help you organize content and stop wasting time on motivation Monday through Saturday! Below are some of the apps that can minimize distractions and make you more productive. Price points are low - from free to under $300 per month - depending on the number of users and accounts. The first social media management tool is Hootsuite Pro. This app can handle multiple social networks including Facebook pages, Instagram, Twitter and Google+ and can even post to YouTube. Hootsuite offers a free version that's perfect for businesses just starting out. Hootsuite Pro can upload spreadsheet posts in bulk. Teams can save draft posts to keep for approval or to reuse later. Related: How to choose the best social media marketing tool for your business Google Alerts has been my go-to app for years for keeping me up to date on tech news and finding content to share on social channels. It's a free and easy way to find content for your social media channels, but there are better apps that can keep everything organized and productive. Feedly is a website that organizes content from RSS feeds and podcasts. Content can be grouped into folders to reduce clutter in your inbox. I use it to organize posts to read later and to find interesting content to share. The app also ranks content based on popularity, letting readers know what's trending. One of Feedly's handy features is that it can also pull YouTube feeds into folders. An annual subscription gives users access to all integrations, including Hootsuite and two other tools, IFTTT and Buffer. Buffer is a direct competitor to Hootsuite, which queues social media posts across multiple social channels. Hootsuite is a little easier to learn than Buffer. Both are relatively easy to use once you get the hang of them. Related: Why You're Not Getting Customers From Social Media For those just starting to build an Instagram following, a free and simple app called Followers Insight can help. It's very easy to use and has few features, including who follows an account or not. Iconosquare is far more robust than either of the above two apps. I'm very active on Twitter and have some Twitter management tools running. Who. Unfollowed.Me lets me know who's playing the follow-then-unfollow game to increase their vanity counts. Another app, UnTweeps, sorts out inactive Twitter accounts. TweetDeck is a must for keeping up with fast-paced Twitter chats, although Hootsuite can be used for chats too. Also See: 3 Ways to Grow Your Business With Free Social Media Analytics SEMRush is another online tool I use. It's positioned as a keyword research tool, but it also has some social media tools. SEMRush's social media tool monitors and evaluates the engagement, activity and growth of your social media account and that of your competitors. On one of my projects, a competitor gained an amazing 30,000 followers in a month! The app reported which content was responsible for the surge in follower growth. If you need to write an article or blog post, use keyword research along with your website and social media analytics to get inspiration from your followers. If your site is an e-commerce site, this data can help you know what your customers are viewing and buying. If This Then That, is an easy-to-use site with thousands of "recipes" for productivity, lifehacks, billing customers, connect-to-home automations, and social media management. I use it for recording specific hashtags in a Google doc, auto-tweeting from Feedly, and sending tweets to Google+ or sometimes Instagram. Your hashtag strategy is important on Instagram. A free site,, generates related hashtags based on a seed word. The next time you're stuck on Instagram after your boyfriend's road trip across the country, think to yourself, "This is great, but what should I really be working on?" Shelters Adoption ProgramTAVARES - The Lake County Animal Shelter is going to great lengths in August to find homes for the animals who are now being placed in their shelter as they host the special Clear The Shelters Adoption Program throughout the month. Beginning Monday, the shelter is partnering with NBCUniversal Local for this pet adoption campaign, which runs through Aug. 31. The Lake County Animal Shelter is located at 12280 County Road 448 in Tavares. As the shelter noted in a press release, "Residents and visitors interested in our wonderful pets are encouraged to make an appointment online by visiting this link."* and, as the shelter noted, "a lifetime of love “. "We have so many amazing pets waiting for homes," said Whitney Boylston, director of the Lake County Animal Shelter. So far in 2022, the Lake County Animal Shelter has seen a 17% year-to-date increase in admissions compared to 2021, which it says is an industry-wide trend. In Lake County, this has resulted in more than 3,500 pet adoptions so far this year. By participating in the Clear the Shelters adoption campaign, the shelter hopes to "continue the momentum of positive results throughout the summer, which is the busiest time of the year." The shelter also encourages residents who are unable to adopt pets to help in a variety of ways, including by: * or donating supplies from the shelter's Amazon wish list: In January 2019, Lake County broke ground on a larger and far more modern animal shelter than the one that had housed stray animals for decades. The Lake County Animal Shelter built this new shelter to have the space needed to temporarily house hundreds of dogs, cats, and other pets while they await adoption, and the building doubled the size of the older building to 31,000 square feet. In response, the Lake County Commission voted to authorize construction of a new animal shelter funded by a 1-cent sales tax, which voters reapproved in 2015. The commission also made the need for a new animal shelter more urgent by passing a no-kill policy for Lake County, meaning animals can only be euthanized if they are too sick or too aggressive to be adopted. Instead, the county has pushed for a strong adoption program to find homes for stray cats and dogs, and the shelter has responded with special adoption programs throughout the year, including ongoing Saturday Special Adoptions. Shelter officials say the no-kill policy has worked and the county has sheltered more than 3,700 pets in recent years.

SaturdayAn Alameda County judge ruled Friday night that the University of California, Berkeley can build housing in People's Park, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Judge Frank Roesch denied the motions of three groups, including two civic groups, after testifying for three and a half hours in Alameda County Superior Court in Oakland. At least one community group has obtained a demolition moratorium to prevent construction of the university from starting. Otherwise, the groups could be fighting in court while the university begins construction. Harvey Smith, president of the Peoples Park Historic District Advocacy Group, one of three groups suing the university over its plans, said his group is ready to appeal. UC Berkeley wants to build student housing and housing for disadvantaged groups, including the homeless, in People's Park. At least some of the meaning derives from the role it played during the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s. One such alternative is a multi-storey car park just over a block from People's Park on Channing Way and Ellsworth Street. Caltrans will close portions of State Highway 37 in Sonoma and Solano counties for five nights in mid-August for a road rehabilitation project, the agency said Friday. Westbound Highway 37 between Walnut Avenue in Vallejo and State Highway 121 in Sears Point will be closed for five nights beginning at 8 p.m. on August 14th. The route will be closed at 8 p.m. Every night and will reopen at 4am every day and work will be completed by August 19th. Workers will repair "deteriorated" sidewalks and shoulders on the 6-mile westbound stretch of Highway 37 between Walnut Avenue and Skaggs Island Road. Caltrans said it wants to get that work done before wet weather arrives in the fall. A man who appeared to be holding a gun was fatally shot by a Sonoma County Sheriff's Department deputy Friday morning after a standoff. At approximately 8:22 a.m., representatives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the 5200 block of Tre Monte Lane near Geyserville to investigate a case involving a man who threw a rock through the window of a local home apartment building. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Juan Valencia said initial information indicated several local residents contacted the man and asked one of them to shoot him. The man then fled from the resident and escaped in his truck. MPs searched the area and located the truck at Block 5600 of Tre Monte Lane. The man was no longer in the truck, but MPs were able to track the man in a wooded area east of the 5600 block of Thomas Road. Deputies learned the man had stolen at least one ATV vehicle. After more than an hour of searching for the suspect, officers found him. The deputies ordered him to drop it, but he refused. The man initially appeared to lunge at one of the deputies, but stopped. After a standoff with several orders to lay down the gun, a second-in-command used his taser, but it appeared to be ineffective; the second deputy shot the man. The shooting took place around 10:03 am. The man was pronounced dead at 10:29 am. None of the deputies were physically injured during the encounter with the man. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department referred to the Sonoma County Critical Incident Protocol and requested the Santa Rosa Police Department and the Sonoma County Attorney's Office to conduct an independent investigation into the events leading up to the man's death. The Santa Rosa Police Department will release more information about the investigation on Saturday. The identities of the man and the MPs involved will be released next week. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department will release the names of the deputies involved and their tenure in the department in accordance with Sonoma County Critical Incident Protocol guidelines. The Marin County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy next week. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department will conduct an independent administrative review to determine whether deputies have followed policies and procedures. The first mosquitoes found in Contra Costa County to test positive for West Nile virus were spotted in the East County city of Oakley, the Contra Costa Mosquito & Vector Control District said Friday. Back in May, the Vector Control District found a dead American crow that tested positive for West Nile. Since 2005, 75 people in Contra Costa County have been diagnosed with the virus and two people died from it in 2006. The Vector Control District encourages residents to take precautions to reduce the risk of contracting the virus by using insect repellent and avoiding being outdoors where mosquitoes are present. People can report dead birds to the district by calling (877) WNV-BIRD or going to People can also request mosquito repellent in their home by calling (925) 685-9301 or going to California is "carefully reviewing" whether to declare a public health emergency for monkeypox to free up more resources to fight the outbreak, the state's chief health official said Friday. dr Tomas Aragon, the state health commissioner and director of the California Department of Health, argued the state is far better prepared to deal with the outbreak than it would have been before the COVID-19 pandemic and has 19 pandemic over the past two years on case investigations and surveillance to combat the monkeypox outbreak. Aragon doubted what specific factors the state is considering that would lead to a possible declaration of a state of emergency, but said an internal review by state officials to that end is underway. San Francisco public health officials on Thursday issued a local public health emergency for the virus, saying it will allow the city to expedite emergency planning, staffing and agency coordination. As of Thursday, 786 confirmed and probable cases had been reported statewide, with two-thirds reported in San Francisco and Los Angeles counties alone. More than 80 percent of the total cases were also found in whites and Hispanics or Latinos. An 18-year-old man from Half Moon Bay was arrested Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while giving her alcohol to intoxicate her. Happy Corbin appears in the crowd to taunt Pat McAfee, he says he has a ticket and Pat can't touch him, and we go on intermission. Back from the commercial, Corbin is still scolding McAfee as Michael Cole walks us through a recap of Raw's main event. The commentary exaggerates SummerSlam as it stands and Happy ends up jumping the rails and kicking Pat into the gentleman's area and we go on break. Back from the ad, Austin Theory encounters an interview. He says he's sick of everyone treating him like a punching bag because he's going to be a three-time champion and it's his fault that guys like Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Lashley and Madcap Moss are jealous of him. He walks away and meets Paul Heyman, who takes him away to give him some advice. Pat McAfee echoes the comment, hurt but good to go. Circles, collar and elbows, side headlock, go-behind, Blackheart yells at her. Aliyah with a side headlock, shot down, Lou Thesz Press in punches! Liv refuses to make the tag and ends up on the ropes, reversing the Slingshot Atomic Drop into a victory roll for two! Liv comes back, knocks out Nattie, Oblivion connects, Ronda with the ankle lock... Liv Morgan & Ronda Rousey win by submission with an ankle lock from Rousey over Sonya Deville. He thought it would be a good idea for the four of them to sit down before their game tomorrow night and get some things straight. Jey Uso asks if punching Montez Ford in the nose and making him lick all over the mat is DQ. Jimmy asks if he should wrap the title belts around Angelo Dawkins' head. Dawkins asks if it's a DQ if he hits the Usos so hard they start the Siva Tau again. Jarrett says the four have some creative imagination and he will let them run wild tonight and his only job is to count the pin when two shoulders are down. But as for tonight, the four of them have some outstanding issues, so if anyone's feeling naughty, why not jump in? Angelo says there won't be any jumps but asks if it's a DQ if - HE ATTACKS THE USOS AND WE GET A CERTAIN! A misguided superkick from a Uso knocks Double J down! Jeff recovers and makes order, the profits knock off the Usos and Ford hits a Tope con Giro! New Day comes in and we go on break.

Scores and analysis for the final WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam, led by Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus in a high-stakes Main Event. (Author: Gardener)

July 29thOn the eve of WWE SummerSlam, the Superstars of SmackDown set the tone for the weekend with a Fox broadcast centered on the high-stakes showdown between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. The Irish Donnybrook Match will determine which man will fight for the undisputed WWE Championship on September 2 at the Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, giving a show that promised to end the hype for The Biggest Party of the Summer. Delivering extra heaviness adds who took a step closer to achieving their title ambitions and what happened at the final stop en route to Saturday's premium live event in Nashville? Find out with this recap of the July 29 broadcast. Sheamus (Winner Challenges for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)The New Day vs. The Viking RaidersAttacking Drew McIntyre as the Scottish Warrior came in, Sheamus started the Irish Donnybrook match with the kind of physicality that would ultimately define it. The leader of The Brawling Brutes dominated the competition early on, even going so far as to use a Shillelagh on McIntyre's eye. The Babyface overcame his opponent's reckless attack and repelled Ridge Holland's interference by throwing the former rugby player through a table. When he finally seemed to have the match in hand, McIntyre found himself the recipient of an attack from Butch. It didn't end his night, however. The former WWE Champion recovered, caught his opponent with a powerbomb and drove him through a table. A final claymore, this time to the defiant heel, gave McIntyre the hard-fought win. This match dealt with tomorrow night's SummerSlam card and essentially challenged everyone involved to try and beat it. McIntyre and Sheamus beat each other in a pay-per-view match won by the former while also raising the bar almost impossible for the rest of the weekend. McIntyre's win was the right choice. Having forever linked his WWE Championship to the COVID-19 pandemic and the company's ThunderDome era, the guy was repeatedly fired up for a run for the gold before inexplicably beating the part-time wrestlers in whom he was vocal, faded into the background last few weeks. Who knows if he'll be the guy to dethrone Reigns, make it 2-0 against Brock Lesnar or silence Theory, but he's absolutely earned the right to go to Cardiff, Wales and possibly at a high-profile one Participate in historical premium live event tent match competition. He'll do just that thanks to a Signature win in a fantastic match. Sheamus' chest and body blushed early, drowning out the physicality of the competition. Theory attacked after the match and took down McIntyre with repeated shots from Money in the Bank's briefcase before being booed from the building by fans in his own hometown of Atlanta. Backstage, Theory denounced the idea that he was WWE's punching bag and vowed to cash in on Money in the Bank, win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and go to Cardiff to face Drew McIntyre. However, her quest for a win that would catapult her into title shot failed again when Shotzi scored the pinfall win. However, rather than a hint of a renewed push for the Ballsy Badass, it got former SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey to her feet, rushing the ring and dragging her around the square circle. We get it: Rousey is the baddest woman alive and she's in a bad mood. Couldn't she just capitalize on a win and then make way for the following tag match? By booking the Rousey beatdown, the Shotzi Aliyah match was ultimately deemed useless. Fans have no reason to care or believe any of the competitors as Rousey came out and wiped the mat with the winner. It's a reverse booking and something that Triple H and the creative team he's putting around him will have to work on if they can get their feet on the ground and move forward. Michael Cole at least brought up the story between Shotzi and Aliyah from earlier this year and made sense of what seemed a thrown together match. Rousey, oddly trying to seem more real and true to who she is, seems more incredible every time she touches the mic.Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan vs. Natalya and Sonya DevilleA backstage confrontation led to a tag team match , which pitted SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan and the aforementioned Rousey against Sonya Deville and Natalya. Heels weathered an early offensive by the opposition against Morgan, cutting her off Rousey, forcing her to fend off both of them if a win should be achieved. The confident champion, wanting to prove she could win without her partner, foolishly stayed in the match longer than she should have. Eventually, Rousey charged into the match and knocked Deville around. A tense stardown between champion and challenger ended the segment. This was a perfectly acceptable match that did what it was supposed to do: build tension between Rousey and Morgan. Up to this point, Rousey has said and done everything right. She was merciful in the loss, although she had to brood over the idea of Morgan taking the SmackDown Title away from her. She's taken her anger out on everyone else she's met save Morgan, and if she loses in Nashville on Saturday, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see the UFC Hall of Famer making the heel turn that so many have been clamoring for longed for their return to the company. Morgan is such a great babyface champion and has so much room to grow in this role. Assuming she can continue her journey in Nashville beyond Saturday night. The mounting frustration on Rousey's face when Morgan refused to tag was perhaps the best part of her performance. Speaking of facial expressions, they've long been the most underrated part of Morgan's performance, and the look she gave Rousey right after the tee shot told the story of someone frustrated that her plan to go it alone wasn't working out that way as she expected. Referee Instructions with The Usos and Street Profits; New Day vs. The Viking Raiders Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and The Street Profits converged in the ring for a segment described by the commentary team as "referee's orders." The teams took turns asking Jeff Jarrett if certain behavior would disqualify them on Saturday night. After some goading from the official, a brawl broke out between the champions and the challengers. Jarrett took a superkick in the melee before the Profits cleared the ring of heels and asserted dominance ahead of the much-anticipated rematch. The segment was okay for what it was, but really, at this point the game is built as it gets. The teams tore down the Las Vegas house and stole the show among the Money in the Bank ladder games. They could do the same thing again on Saturday, come hell or double J. New Day and The Viking Raiders stayed in the tag division and fought in the continuation of their feud. Erik and Ivar dominated the match for the majority, overpowering and crushing Kofi Kingston. However, a hot punch to Xavier Woods sparked a babyface comeback, with the G4 presenter obliterating both men with one slide through the ropes. However, the Monster Heels overcame Wood's fiery attack and tripped Kingston for the decisive victory. They defeated a Hall of Fame tag team and then brutalized Woods in his hometown of Atlanta, where Friday's show saw a significant improvement in bookings over what they received last month. The normally confident McAfee, who was audibly nervous when Erik and Ivar met his eyes, helped overcome the imposing nature of the heels. The ankle injury angle was great and should write Woods out a bit so he can fulfill whatever commitments he has outside of WWE. Paul Heyman stepped into the square circle to speak at Saturday's SummerSlam main event, in which the undisputed WWE Universal Champion defended Roman Reigns against Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match. The champion's special counsel claimed Lesnar will only dethrone The Tribal Chief and end his 700-day run at the helm of WWE because of his "damn corpse." Attempting to test that claim, the beast interrupted the promo and stalked towards the square circle. Before he could harm the man he once called a friend (and advocate), Theory attacked Money in the Bank with the briefcase. It went just as well as last week. Lesnar brutalized the young star with suplexes and briefcase shots. Theory escaped but ate a Claymore from McIntyre, who ended the show by glaring at Lesnar, a callback to their previous rivalry and a possible preview of the main event of Clash at the Castle The number of people up the ass of Theory now Wanting to kick has become a social media joke, but creatively it has resulted in a more interesting product. The young star has been the talk of the town since winning Money in the Bank, with some loving his heightened exposures and others... well, not so much. Regardless of where one stands, there's no denying that theory is already at the heart of creative endeavors. Win or lose, when he finally cashes in, he's the competitor the WWE Universe revolves around right now. Now add McIntyre and the uncertainty surrounding the immediate future of the title and who will actually be fighting for the gold in Cardiff creates an excitement that hasn't been felt for quite some time. Heyman's humble attempt to hand the mic to Lesnar, after talking copious amounts of crap about him, was the kind of character excellence only the godfather of the extreme is capable of at this point. The show could easily have gone off the air with Lesnar standing upright, but teasing the WrestleMania 36 rematch was a great way to cover up the numerous moving parts in the world cover.
