Sonya Deville brings Bianca Belair into the title match

WWE Raw Results, Grades: Sonya Deville destroys Bianca Belair after getting her to accept a title match, Tommaso Ciampa meets Ezekiel. (Author: Gardener)

Sonya DevilleWWE Official Sonya Deville used her position of power to land a Raw Women's Title Match against Bianca Belair. The new champion was crowned at WrestleMania 38 earlier this month when WWE's EST defeated Becky Lynch to win the gold and avenge her shock loss at SummerSlam 2021. The real story was yet to come, however, as Sonya Deville came out and firstly congratulated Bianca on her big WrestleMania win. She then goaded the EST into signing an open deal for her first title defense after pointing out all the potential challengers - including Becky, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan and more - and hearing that Belair is ready to sign up to ask each of them. She then signed the contract herself, much to the disgust of her colleague Adam Pearce, and we have a fantastic early title defense for Belair. In a sight still slightly surreal, Raw opened just over a week after its shock return from AEW with Cody Rhodes guesting on Miz TV. Cody - who used terms like "belt" and "wrestler" only to be corrected by Miz - fired back and vowed to beat the best in WWE before avoiding a sneak attack. AJ Styles and Damian Priest met in a fantastic match that was hurt a little by a confusing ending when the Archer of Infamy knelt as a purple light shone on him. The show returned from a commercial break, with WWE going on without a definitive end while we watched an injured AJ backstage ranting about how things were going. Rhodes and Miz next had a fun match, with the former claiming the win only to face Seth Rollins in the ring - and the pair agreed to a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash. Backstage again, Tommaso Ciampa was ready for an interview, but Ezekiel introduced himself, leading to Kevin Owens scolding him about lying and it's actually Elias. Naomi quickly finished off Liv Morgan in a fantastic sprint before WWE returned from a commercial break to Bobby Lashley, who was already in the ring discussing MVP's betrayal as he called out his former associate and Omos. The Ex-Hurt Business allies fought at the mic, with MVP claiming he made Lashley almighty while Bobby insisted he had turned MVP's farewell tour into something more. The 24/7 cover scene took an entertaining turn this week as Reggie, Dana Brooke, Akira Tozawa and Tamina celebrated their bachelor and bachelorette parties ahead of next week's double wedding. Randy Orton and Riddle defeated Alpha Academy in a great match that seems to have pushed Chad Gable and Omos to the bottom of the line while RK-Bro moves on to other things. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos lined up to confront their Raw counterparts and the Street Profits joined the party to stake their claim. It led to Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins battling Jimmy and Jey in an amazing main event, while this was another example of Ford being a world champion in waiting. Usos won here to set up the unification match before everything fell apart as Jimmy and Jey stood upright after superkicking out Orton. After Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns sent them to the red mark to unify the Tag Team Titles, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defeated Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins in an explosive Main Event - Showdown to bring them one step closer to that goal. Additionally, Cody Rhodes defeated The Miz in his first Raw match in six years, WWE Official Sonya Deville tricked into a future Raw Women's Title match against Bianca Belair, and more. The Miz welcomed special guest Cody Rhodes to Miz TV ahead of their Raw match. As Miz cheered on his imminent opponent, The American Nightmare took it all in stride. Although Miz eventually got mad at his guest, Rhodes kept his cool. Along the way, he remarked that whenever his WrestleMania opponent Seth Rollins wanted a rematch, he was happy to oblige. However, when Miz tried to attack from behind, Rhodes sent him through the ropes, humiliating the host. After Veer Mahaan showed up to brutalize The Mysterios last week, imposing Superstar Dominik had Mysterio tap his torturous Cervical Clutch in dominant fashion in his first match on Raw. Unhappy with the mere win, The Lion quickly repeated the assist, not just once but twice after the bell. After he and Edge ruthlessly defeated AJ Styles when he confronted her on Raw after WrestleMania, the unhinged Damian Priest went one on one with The Phenomenal One. Before the match, the two superstars fought backstage earlier in the day. In the match, Priest countered Styles' phenomenal forearm attempt with a vicious boot that sent his opponent to the floor of the ring. In his first Raw match in six years, Cody Rhodes engaged The Miz in an extremely competitive contest. After pinching his knee from the top rope and fighting his way through an agonizing figure four from The A-Lister, Cody roared back and overcame his opponent with the Cody Cutter/Cross Rhodes combination for the three-pointer. With Rhea Ripley unable to attend Monday Night Raw, the previously scheduled Women's Tag Team Championship match was pushed back to next week and Liv Morgan attempted to continue her win over Sasha Banks on SmackDown against Naomi. After MVP betrayed Bobby Lashley and helped Omos with a sneak attack last week, The All Mighty invited himself to "The VIP Lounge" and dismantled the set during a heated exchange with his former cohort and Omos. A week after severing her partnership with Carmella, Queen Zelina failed in a Championship Contender's Match against Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair after The EST of WWE denied the K.O.D. After her win, Belair was interrupted by WWE Official Sonya Deville. The WWE Official congratulated the new champion on her monumental WrestleMania victory and presented her with an open contract to her title to prove what a fighting champion she is. However, when Bianca signed it, Deville attacked her from behind and signed the contract to earn himself a title match. After WrestleMania, Chad Gable & Otis once again faced Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton & Riddle in a classic tag team showdown, and The Viper hit Gable with a devastating RKO to claim the win. After their win, RK-Bro was suddenly interrupted by the SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. Last Friday on SmackDown, new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns assigned his bloodline cousins the mission of unifying the Tag Team Championships. However, as the two tandems went back and forth in an intense discussion, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins also entered the fight. Unhappy that Jimmy & Jey wanted to skip the line when they deserved a title showdown, the fight ended with RK-Bro suggesting The Usos take on The Street Profits to prove who deserves a title fight. The Street Wins in a High Stakes Team Team Showdown In the final moments of the high stakes tag team showdown, Jimmy & Jey threw Angelo Dawkins into the ring post. This soon opened the door for them to meet One and Done on Montez Ford to emerge victorious. In the episode, The Usos stepped out of the ring after facing off against Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro. As order broke down between The Street Profits and RK-Bro, The Usos returned to hit The Viper with a double Superkick and held the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles above them. Cody Rhodes vs The Miz

Cody Rhodes will be in his first WWE Raw match since 2016. (Author: Gardener)

MizRaw opened with a video package highlighting Cody Rhodes' return to WrestleMania 38 and his promo last week. Miz spoke briefly before introducing Cody Rhodes, who received a slew of fireworks for his performance. Rhodes received a huge crowd reaction. Miz mentioned Rhodes' great performance and wondered if he was trying to eclipse him. Miz wondered if Rhodes was someone who only cared about himself. Rhodes said he's trying to enjoy the moment after being away for so long. Rhodes posed for the crowd singing to him and he took it in. Miz said that if it wasn't for his family name Rhodes wouldn't be a plumber's grandson, he'd just be a plumber. Rhodes said that was appropriate because Miz was full of it (he briefly stopped saying "shit"). Rhodes said Miz obviously hasn't changed - he's still good old reliable Mike. Rhodes said he was here for a reason - to win the undisputed "belt" of the championship. Miz told him it was a "title", belts hold up your pants. Miz noted that Seth Rollins wanted a rematch because Rhodes couldn't surprise him this time. Miz didn't like Rhodes' chances against either Rollins or him tonight either. Miz was upset that after Mania everyone was talking about Rhodes instead of him. Rhodes told him to calm down. Rhodes said he respects Miz and his accomplishments. Miz acted this way because he was upset. Rhodes had no problem with Rollins and would love to give him a rematch, but now Miz is making things personal. Rhodes was ready to take on the best "wrestlers" in the world. Miz corrected him and called them "superstars". Rhodes screwed that up. Rhodes was looking forward to his first match on Raw in six years. The crowd sang for Cody again. The crowd sang for Cody again. Miz tried to attack but Rhodes dodged him and Miz fell out of the ring. This has been advertised as Veer vs. Rey Mysterio since last week, but not only was that not the match, Rey didn't even compete with Dominik. Mahaan countered a dive and knocked Dominik down with his "million dollar arm" clothesline. He hit another in the ring before applying a modified camel clutch for the submission win (Dominik tapped off immediately). Mahaan put the grip back on after the game and held it until officers broke it up. After a break, poor Dominik was loaded into an ambulance. Kevin Patrick asked Mahaan why he attacked Dominik after the match. Earlier today, Sarah Schreiber asked AJ Styles about his upcoming match against Damian Priest. Styles saw Priest walking by and attacked him. Priest made a pre-match promo saying he would prove his worth to Edge while Styles would face his court day. I deleted my summary of this game because it doesn't matter. The match ended with Priest (after knocking Styles out of the ring) on one knee, the lights went out and a blue spotlight shone on him. A pissed off Styles told Schreiber that he didn't know what the heck that was and that he wasn't done with Priest or Edge. The bell rang to start the match before Rollins stepped in to watch from ringside. Rhodes hit a delayed vertical suplex, but Miz gained control and they broke after he booted Rhodes out of the ring. Rhodes fired and challenged Miz to hit him. Rhodes followed with a scoop slam for two before making a suicide dive. Miz kicked his leg out of his leg and put on a four. Rhodes nearly broke his rope but Miz dragged him to the center of the ring. Rhodes repeatedly punched Miz in the face before twisting the handle until Miz suffered a rope break. Rhodes then hit a springboard cutter followed by Cross Rhodes for the pinfall win. The game was fine. The audience liked Cody very much. Rollins entered the ring after the match while Rhodes celebrated. Rollins said he didn't know who his opponent would be at Mania so Rhodes had every advantage. Rollins suggested a rematch and Rhodes accepted immediately. Rollins laughed and danced around Rhodes. Patrick welcomed Tommaso Ciampa to Raw. The crowd cheered. Before Ciampa could say anything, Ezekiel appeared and greeted him on Raw. Ciampa thanked him. Kevin Owens burst in and told Ciampa that it really was Elias. Ciampa pretended to believe him. They replayed the clip of Rhea Ripley saying she had a tag title match for herself and Liv Morgan. However, Jimmy Smith said Ripley was "on record" so she couldn't be here tonight. They traded cradle attempts and Naomi got the upper hand and took the pinfall win. Bobby Lashley stepped in before a break to pre-emptively crash this segment. He appeared to be in the middle of the promo when they returned from break. Lashley spoke of being stabbed in the back by the one man he thought he could trust. Initially, no one entered, so Lashley threatened to destroy MVP's stuff. Omos' music hit and he entered (wearing a suit) with MVP. MVP threatened to bill Lashley if he touched his stuff. Lashley told him to shove it up his ass. MVP urged Lashley to show respect to his name. MVP said Lashley failed in WWE before joining him. Lashley let a TikTok star wannabe run his career until MVP took over and made him All Mighty. Lashley reminded MVP that he originally came back into the ring for one last ride but had to hang up his boots before using Lashley as a meal ticket. Lashley destroyed everyone alone and went all the way to the top, beating Brock Lesnar for the title. MVP said he found someone bigger and better in Omos. Lashley said he would finish off Omos before getting MVP. Lashley destroyed the set. They decided to crash the concurrent bachelor party, but Reggie didn't like the idea. There was a segment where Austin Theory was granted a US title match by Adam Deville and Sonya Deville. I think Theory said that Vince McMahon didn't think the name "Austin" was him. Theory left and Owens entered the office. Pearce said these things were confidential. Owens couldn't believe his library card was confidential. Owens wanted to put Ezekial on a lie detector test. Deville was upset but said he could do it as long as it was the end. Owens is gone. Deville told Pearce that she made a deal for Bianca Belair's first title defense. Pearce was unaware of this, but Deville claimed she didn't have time to explain who her opponent would be. As Belair celebrated, Deville walked in with a clipboard and they went on break. Deville congratulated Belair on her title win. She knew Belair was waiting for her first title defense. She mentioned Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Doudrop and Dana Brooke as potential opponents. Belair said she would love to face any of these women and would still come out as the women's champion regardless of who she chose. Deville introduced Belair's next opponent, describing her as a generational superstar who broke social norms. As Belair watched the stage, Deville blocked her. Deville continued the attack and laid her down before posing as Belair's first challenger. Truth had an official piece of paper claiming he could make a statement that no one could attack Brooke about her title until she was married. Pearce told Deville that she was abusing her power. Deville said she plans to beat Belair for her title. Pearce couldn't believe she thought she could get away with it. Deville told him not to be jealous. Chad Gable buried Detroit before saying they wouldn't let the Usos come from another brand and take over the Raw titles. He said the titles would already be on their toes if there weren't a few distractions at Mania, including Gable Steveson. Gable and Otis worked Riddle through a break until Orton made the hot tag, eventually hitting Gable with an RKO for the pinfall win. As RK-Bro celebrated, the Usos were shown arriving at the building in an SUV (Jey was driving). The Usos got on after a break. Orton wondered if they would actually show up, but it seems like Roman Reigns let the bitches off the leash. Jey said they were the longest reigning Smackdown tag champions and they wanted the Raw titles too. Jimmy challenged them to a union game. Riddle wondered if they were trying to be like Thanos and get all the stones. The Usos said they already had the blue ones, now they wanted the red ones. Montez Ford said the Usos were trying to skip the line. Jey said there was only one line - the bloodline. Ford said Profits should beat Usos and unify the titles themselves. The Usos and Street Profits argued until Orton told them to shut up. Orton said we'd rather see them fight than talk. Next up is the game. Theory for the US Title Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan for the Tag Titles The Usos worked on Angelo Dawkins for a while before he got in the way of Orton and Riddle (ringside watching). The Usos went in the faces of Orton and Riddle until Ford obliterated the Usos with a big flip dive. Despite all that, the Usos were still working on Dawkins after a hiatus. Dawkins hit a silencer before making the hot tag to Ford. Ford hit an impressive high cross and a blockbuster on Jey for two. The Street Profits scored a narrow nearfall for a doomsday blockbuster. Jimmy hit Dawkins with a superkick and Jey went for a diving splash but Dawkins' knees went up. Ford tagged in and hit a fantastic frog splash, but Jimmy just broke up the cover. The Usos then gave Ford the 1D for the pinfall win. fun game. The Usos had a staredown with RK-Bro before retiring from the ring. It seemed like Dawkins was trying to attack Riddle for some reason and they stormed out of the ring. That left Ford alone, so Orton gave him an RKO.

Cody Rhodes beats The Miz and accepts rematch with Seth Rollins

Rhodes and Rollins will face off again after Rhodes won their first meeting at WrestleMania 38 (Author: Gardener)

Cody RhodesWWE arrived in Detroit Monday night for Raw, still in the process of wrapping up the WrestleMania season. With this in mind, Raw continued to build new stories as WrestleMania Backlash approached. One of the biggest stories of the night was Cody Rhodes, who wrestled on Raw for the first time in six years when he defeated The Miz. It really mattered what happened after the match as Seth Rollins challenged Rhodes to a rematch of their WrestleMania 38 match. The show began with Cody Rhodes appearing as a guest on Miz TV later the night before their match. Miz ran Rhodes down and said while Cody was on AEW he must have forgotten Raw is Miz's show. Rhodes replied that he does respect Miz, but that he can see that Miz is afraid of him. After the interview ended, Miz tried to take Rhodes by surprise but was caught and thrown out of the ring. Defeated Cody Rhodes. The Miz via Pinfall to Cross Rhodes. Seth Rollins made his way to the ring before the start of the match and sat at the commentary booth to watch the fight. After quite a long match, Rhodes took the win by hitting Cross Rhodes to set the pinfall. Rollins initially stayed at the commentary table, applauding Rhodes for his win and smiling. Rollins eventually entered the ring with a microphone and claimed Rhodes had the advantage of being a "surprise opponent" in their match at WrestleMania. Rollins then challenged a rematch, which Rhodes was quick to accept. It's still wild that Rhodes is back in WWE, in such a way that a large part of Raw is built around him. The match with Miz was good as expected. But now Rhodes returns to the still evolving feud with Rollins. The right way to handle it would be another Rhodes win, but the WWE way of handling these situations means Rollins is likely to win at WrestleMania Backlash and the two settle things in Hell in a Cell. In any case, business is good for Rhodes at the moment. * Veer Mahan defeated. After the match, Mahan again locked Mysterio in the hold until pulled off by WWE officials. He then pushed the officers away to lock the hold a third time. The match ended when Priest Styles had stepped off the ring apron and knelt in the center of the ring where the lights went out save for a beam of blue light shining on him. * Defeated Naomi. * MVP explained why he hit on Bobby Lashley during The VIP Lounge. Lashley stood in the ring demanding answers, creating MVP and Omos. MVP claimed all credit for Lashley's success, saying that Lashley saying he didn't "need" him at WrestleMania proves it's time for MVP to move on to the future. * Defeated Bianca Belair. Zelina Vega via pinfall with the K.O.D. in an extremely short game. * Sonya Deville emerged as Belair's next opponent. Deville presented Belair with a contract, which Belair signed, saying that she would defend her Raw Women's Championship against anyone. Deville then faked introducing the opponent before attacking Belair from behind. * RK-Bro def. Alpha Academy via pinfall when Randy Orton hit Chad Gable with an RKO. * The Usos def. The Street Profits via pinfall when Jimmy pinned Uso Montez Ford after the 1D. The Usos confronted RK-Bro and followed instructions from Roman Reigns that they needed to unify their SmackDown tag titles with RK-Bro's Raw belts. This brought out The Street Profits who claimed they deserved the title shot. Riddle and Orton suggested the two teams just go ahead and fight to finish the show. The Usos ended the show with a super kick at Orton before posing with both tag titles.

Welcome to the Bleacher Report coverage and recap of WWE Raw on April 11th. With WrestleMania 38 firmly in the rearview mirror, it's time for WWE to take a look at WrestleMania Backlash as it decides which feuds to put on the map... (Author: Gardener)

April 11thWith WrestleMania 38 firmly in the rearview mirror, it's time for WWE to take a look at WrestleMania Backlash as it decides which Feuds will appear on the map. After attacking Bobby Lashley during last week's show, Omos and MVP appeared to form a new alliance. The two discussed their actions from the comfort of the VIP lounge. Cody Rhodes had his first match on Raw in over six years when he faced The Miz, and AJ Styles fought Edge's new ally, Damian Priest. Let's take a look at what happened during Monday's episode of WWE Raw. Raw opened with a recap of Cody Rhodes returning to WWE at WrestleMania before The Miz came out for an episode of Miz TV. It took Rhodes a long time to get to the ring because he played in front of the crowd so much. The Miz said Rhodes wouldn't get anywhere in this business without his family name, but The American Nightmare didn't seem to mind. They stabbed each other a bit until The A-Lister got angry and started staring at Rhodes. The segment ended with Rhodes dodging an attack to send The Miz out of the ring. That was as physical as the opening segment, but it still lasted the first 17 minutes of the show. While this could have accomplished the same thing in half the time, it was still nice to see The Miz and Rhodes both get a chance to speak before their game. It might have been too long, but this was still a decent opening of the show. The AR graphics that WWE uses during Rhodes' performances are a bit much. It seemed like Rhodes and The Miz planned their outfits for this segment. If not, it's a happy coincidence. Miz correcting Rhodes for saying superstars instead of wrestlers was funnier than it should have been. In the first match of the night, Veer faced off against one of the men he attacked last week, Dominik Mysterio. While dodging the big man's first attack, Dom was quickly overwhelmed by the powerhouse. Although the high-flyer took a bit of a hit, Veer still finished him off in just a few minutes with a modified camel hitch. That was more than Veer crushing a random jobber, but not by much. Rey was nowhere to be seen, so his son also suffered a post-game attack. The good news is that Veer looked like the beast when WWE wanted us in him, so it will be interesting to see how long he lasts before he ends up losing a match. Veer would have fallen over when he caught Dom at ringside if the barricade hadn't held him upright. WWE really sold the attack, with paramedics stretchering Dom to take revenge on Priest after he was involved in Style's match against Edge at WrestleMania. Before fighting in the ring, they were shown having a small scuffle backstage earlier in the day. The Phenomenal One took the fight out of the ring and hit a nice springboard forearm to send us into a commercial break. The second half of the match was more competitive and saw Priest start to work his way back into the match, but Styles still seemed to have the upper hand most of the time. At one point, Priest knelt in the ring and a purple spotlight shone down on him as the rest of the arena went dark. We came back from a hiatus and WWE just got on with the show as if the match was over. Most of the match was great fun, but that odd ending completely killed any momentum the show had built. WWE may have kept styles as a heel for too long. He's so much better than Babyface just because his in-ring style creates so many opportunities for fans to bang. Style's moonsault DDT almost ended badly but they saved him at the last second. He could still be an underrated worker. He understands. The way Priest sold the Pele Kick was funny. Just as Rhodes and The Miz were about to get going, Seth Rollins hit the music, and he made his way to the ring in his finest couchcloth suit. The American Nightmare used his high ring IQ to control the tempo and some of the best to counter moves made by The Miz. He hit a nice delayed facebuster as Rollins cheered him on from the commentary table. They worked well together because both guys are veterans, but it never felt like they stepped out of second gear. It was designed to advance another story. After hitting some of his favorite moves, Rhodes finished The Miz with Cross Rhodes for a clean win. Rhodes immediately agreed. The commentators noted that this was the first singles match between The Miz and Rhodes in nine years. Rollins sat at the table but did not join the commentary team. It was kinda weird. Can we agree to stop saying The Miz has a bad figure four? It looks good. Rhodes really likes a lot of the old school spots. Reversing the figure-four was a big moment for him. After scoring a win over Sasha Banks on SmackDown, Liv Morgan took on her partner Naomi on Raw this week. Once again, Rhea Ripley was absent. Naomi and Morgan got off to a slow start in this match. They had some nice moves but felt like they lacked the chemistry that we saw between Morgan and Banks on Friday. Naomi scored the win in under two minutes. This is another example of WWE doing 50-50 bookings with champions and challengers. There is so much marketing potential with Banks and Naomi as a team. It'll sell better than ice water in the desert. The way Naomi stuck Morgan looked like it would rightly hold most people down for a threesome. Coming back from a break we saw Bobby Lashley already speaking in the ring. The VIP lounge set was there, but MVP and Omos weren't out there yet. Lashley promised to take care of MVP once he was done with Omos. MVP didn't reveal anything we didn't already know, and Lashley only said what we all knew about him. This should have been a short backstage interview, not an entire segment. It was so weird coming back to the show when Lashley was mid-sentence. When he started, someone seemed to be off with the timing. Probably even a big and big shop has to order suits for omos. Bianca Belair took on half of former women's tag team champion Queen Zelina. The match started with Zelina holding the Raw Women's Champion at bay with a unique offense. When the EST made a comeback, it quickly hit the K.O.D. for the win. It was always just the prelude to the reveal of who would be the next contender for the women's title. Sonya Deville made her way outside as the show went on hiatus. When the show returned, Deville congratulated Belair on her victory at WrestleMania before letting her sign an open contract. After signing, Deville revealed she would be her next opponent. She attacked Belair from behind, leaving her on the ground. The match with Zelina wasn't anything special, but to see Deville finally get back into the title hunt will be great. The revelation was obvious from a mile away, but it still worked. Zelina's new queen outfit is quite eye-catching. Belair's braid was significantly shorter here than it was at WrestleMania. Belair seemed to squeeze Zelina over her head like it was incredibly easy for her. RK-Bro took on Alpha Academy in a tag team match this week. If they lost, they could never challenge RK-Bro again. Riddle started against Gable and took control almost immediately, but as soon as Otis came on, he completely turned the tables and put the champions on defense. These two teams have been there in several games over the past few months. While they always put on a good show, it's also a testament to how small WWE's tag team division has become. Raw has so few teams that it has to bring The Usos off SmackDown just to deliver a new feud to RK-Bro. This match was okay. It just felt like something we've seen a lot lately. Orton and Riddle scored the win, so Alpha Academy will have to wait until another team wins the belts to chase them again. The Usos came backstage and made their way to confront Orton and Riddle. This led to The Usos and Profits having a match. Gable and Otis rocked some new stuff tonight. It had a color scheme similar to a lot of the stuff Eddie Guerrero wore in WCW. Chad Gable's pre-match promo mostly consisted of him repeating lines he'd said in previous promos, but he's always funny with his presentation. No matter how, as long as he pulls off the exact same gimmick, the crowd will always be popping out at Orton. He has a special kind of longevity, especially since his RKO is one of the most popular finishers in WWE today. Jimmy Uso and Montez Ford started for their teams in this cross-brand showdown. They started with a simple lockup and wristlock to get things going. As expected, this was a competitive match between two of WWE's smoothest teams. Everything they do has an extra level of excitement because all four guys are so good. This match had hard hitting shots, power moves and highlights galore. This was definitely the right match to book for the main event as the crowd was hyped for everything they did. While all four guys did an excellent job here, Ford was the clear standout. One day he will be world champion. It's a matter of when, not if. After a hard-fought battle, the Usos achieved victory. The Usos eventually had both titles at stake. The show was very mediocre but the main event and Rhodes vs The Miz were definitely worth seeing. Orton and Riddle sat ringside but didn't join comment. Didn't they have enough headsets for guests on Monday? This was the first time all night that it felt like Jerry Lawler was paying attention to what was happening in the ring. He filled in for Corey Graves while he was on his honeymoon. Ford, who defeated both Usos with a dive and immediately danced in Orton and Riddle's faces, was the best moment of the whole night. The blockbuster Doomsday Device the Profits played for Jimmy looked fantastic.

Liverpool have one foot in the Champions League semi-finals welcoming Benfica at Anfield, but will the Portuguese team manage to pull off something special and shock the world? At times it threatened Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in the first leg and hopes it can go further this time. We round up the big Champions League clash between Liverpool and Benfica on Wednesday 13th April in our free Champions League betting tips and predictions. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets. Liverpool returned from the Estadio da Luz with a 3-1 lead and although away goals no longer count, they have a two-goal lead that makes them strong favorites to qualify. Is there anything Benfica can do to shock the world and secure a place in the Champions League semi-finals? To put it simply, Liverpool need -20,000 to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League and if you've seen it this season you'll know exactly why, especially when they're two goals ahead. After an epic 2-2 thrashing of Man City on Sunday, Liverpool are now back in European competition against Benfica. Benfica played admirably at times in the first leg after a slow start and it looked like the game was going to get away. Nelson Verissimo will likely set up their team in a 4-2-3-1, but it's clear they'll need to go on the offensive early in the game if they have any hope of reviving that two-goal deficit. A lot of his hopes rest on the shoulders of Darwin Nunez, with the 22-year-old Uruguayan now one of the hottest properties in the game. The talented striker has scored 29 goals in 34 games for Benfica this season and the big clubs are beginning to circle him, with Manchester United becoming the latest big club to be linked with a summer move. He scored in the first leg and has since added three more goals to his tally in a sensational performance at the weekend as Benfica beat Belenenses. He has scored in each of his last four games and Verissimo hope it stays that way. Benfica will need their aging pair of former Premier League defenders Nicolas Otamendi and Jan Vertonghen to perform better in this game than in the first. Losing pace is always a problem for a defender but when you come up against Liverpool it becomes critical as his attack is simply electric when in full swing. The thought of Luis Diaz likely to be recalled to the starting XI will make the Benfica defense nervous. There was some speculation that Klopp might switch his team around a bit to give the players a rest after that tough Man City game but it would be a risk to do so at this stage of the Champions League and I don't think he would take that would take a risk. I'm confident Liverpool will win this game but the -350 odds don't really make me bet on it and there are far more attractive bets on the table. We know all about the firepower of this Liverpool team and their ability to find the back of the net, but they go into the game with a comfortable two-goal lead overall. The Reds need to control the game and score when they have chances to take it out of Benfica's reach and I think that's possible. I don't think we're going to see a particularly high-scoring game with a likely score of 1-0 or 2-0 for Liverpool and ultimately I think it will be enough to secure the game and advance to the next Champions League round , without wanting to level its players any more than necessary. With odds of +205, the under 2.5 goals market looks really generous and worth a small bet. We often expect fireworks at these Champions League games. The better teams tend to be strong favorites and sportsbooks set their odds with the expectation of many goals. The reality is that at the end of the Champions League or any other cup tournament, teams often play more defensively and cautiously instead of pushing for more goals. With that in mind, I think there is tremendous value in the half-time/full-time market, especially with there being a draw at half-time and Liverpool winning after full-time. I expect the game to start out fairly slowly before more gaps appear in the second half but odds of +350 are so attractive as a first half draw followed by a Liverpool win is a very real possibility.

Manchester City 2-2 Liverpool: Five things we've learned

Liverpool came back twice to secure an important point as the thrilling game against Manchester City at the Etihad ended in a 2-2 draw. After the excellent entertainment, LFCTR takes a look at the five things we learned from the game. (Author: Gardener)

Manchester CityLiverpool came back twice to secure an important point as the thrilling game against Manchester City at the Etihad ended in a 2-2 draw. Liverpool are known for some of the most historic comebacks in football history, but under Jurgen Klopp's leadership the 'never say that' attitude is as ingrained as ever. Coming back twice against this Manchester City side despite not playing very well is admirable to say the least. Jurgen Klopp's high line is an integral part of the way Liverpool play but it certainly gets us through as fans. The number of times Alisson Becker has saved a 1-1 this season is too many for my liking. The Brazilian is the best 1v1 goalkeeper in the world but the tactic could cost us in games like these in the coming months. From now until the end of the season, every game is a final, so a slight adjustment to the high line on points for Jurgen Klopp may be needed. Liverpool's midfield didn't have their best games yesterday as Jordan Henderson was overwhelmed. The Reds' captain has been an absolute gem since taking the helm, but his ability to walk across the field, which is one of his best qualities, seems to be lacking this season. There's a reason he's called "Jota the Slotta". Putting his goals aside when playing through the middle, the Portuguese striker doesn't offer enough overall. His best plays tend to come from the left position, where his instructions are just getting into the box and ending chances. As a false 9 from Jurgen Klopp, you need the ability to drop back and connect with both midfield and the two wingers, something Jota struggles with and gives the ball away far too often. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said this is "the Premier League's greatest rivalry". Is it wrong in quality? Both Liverpool and Manchester City have set a new standard in this league, to the point where every point dropped could cost you the title. The league has never been able to offer this package. So, in a way, Jamie Carragher is spot on.
