Seth Rollins loses last chance at WrestleMania match

WWE Raw results, grades: Seth Rollins rampages after losing last chance at WrestleMania match, Kevin Owens trolls Stone Cold and more. (Author: Gardener)

Seth RollinsWWE Superstar Seth Rollins destroyed the ring area on Raw after missing his "last chance" in a match for this year's WrestleMania. On Monday night, he appeared throughout the show as he tried to make his voice heard and earn a coveted spot in the double-header a week after losing to Kevin Owens in a match to see who called "Stone Cold." “ Steve Austin will be interviewing the event. His mic kept dropping as he tried to make his arguments throughout the opening game (more on that below), but Adam Pearce gave him a glimmer of hope backstage. He later interrupted AJ Styles' big Raw return after being attacked by Edge, with the Phenomenal One wanting revenge on WrestleMania. However, Rollins - who had been chanting for Cody Rhodes all night - suggested that she should confront the Rated-R superstar instead as he was becoming increasingly desperate. Pearce and Sonya Deville booked Seth and AJ for the main event, with the winner taking on Edge. Edge came out and attacked Styles with a steel chair to give him the DQ victory - which kept her on course for WrestleMania while Rollins ripped open the ring area and vowed that Raw won't be happening next week unless he gets what he wants. Raw began with the infamous breaking glass as Steve Austin's music from "Stone Cold" blared out, only for Kevin Owens to appear dressed as a Hall of Famer - complete with a bald head and oversized knee braces. There was a moment where it looked like Austin would actually come out when his music resumed, but it was more trolling from Owens calling for beers in the ring and hitting a stunner on a member of the crew at the end. In the first match of the night, The Miz commentated as Rey and Dominik Mysterio defeated NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler and his tag team partner Robert Roode in a fun match. After the bell, the A-lister attacked the Master of the 619 and exposed the legend by holding up his prize while Dominik covered his father and called for a towel to hide his face. Miz later revealed he stole the mask for his WrestleMania partner Logan Paul, prompting the YouTuber to wear it on Raw next week. Omos has made quick work of both Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez - which is a shame, WWE should be doing a lot more with Crews given his undeniable talent, while the reaction to the giant's recent standoff with Azeez shows there is more potential here was. Becky Lynch was at her best when she came out to address her recent attack on Bianca Belair and cheered her Raw Women's Championship match at WrestleMania. Then Pat McAfee joined the Raw commentary team as his Mania opponent Austin Theory took on US Champion Finn Balor in non-title action, with the former NFL star causing enough of a distraction to give the champ the win grant. RK-Bro teammates Randy Orton and Riddle took on Alpha Academy's Chad Gable and Otis in a typically brilliant tag team match, with Otis going on to attack after the bell. Meanwhile, the 24/7 cover picture continued in a similar fashion as Reggie and Dana defeated Brooke Tamina and Akira Tozawa in a brief and at the time harmless Tornado Tag match. MORE: Austin Theory insists WWE boss Vince McMahon, 76, is still 'ready' to step in the ring but he will handle Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38

WWE announces Veer Mahaan's re-debut on RAW

Veer Mahaan will make his official WWE RAW re-debut at the biggest red brand show of the year. Veer commented on the announcement. (Author: Gardener)

Veer MahaanVeer Mahaan will make his official WWE RAW re-debut at the biggest red brand show of the year. After months of "Coming Soon" vignettes on RAW, WWE has announced that Veer will be returning to RAW on April 4 in the post-WrestleMania 38 episode. Veer tweeted about his upcoming debut and said he's been listening to his fans. "Dedicated to the optimist and positive of my fans who raised their fists in the air in support. I'm clearing this path ahead. Don't get in the way. Better yet... please try! #veermahaan #wwe #tigerstorm #wweraw," he wrote. Veer's RAW return has become one of the internet wrestling community's biggest jokes when the "Coming Soon" vignettes were re-aired on October 25th. At one point it was reported that WWE officials were aware of the comedic nature of stretching the vignettes for so long. Veer, also known as former MLB player Rinku Singh from the film and reality TV show Million Dollar Arm, was signed by WWE in January 2018 after working at baseball organization Pittsburgh Pirates. He was formerly known as Rinku of WWE NXT tag team Indus Sher, but he was called up to the main roster to work as Veer in May of last year. WWE then added the surname in late 2021. After running in NXT, Veer began working on WWE Main Event matches in July 2021 and then made his RAW debut with a DQ win over Drew McIntyre on July 26. At this point, Veer aligned with Jinder Mahal and Shanky. The trio played together in various matches until Shanky and Mahal were drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft, and that's when Veer started his run in the WWE Main Event and the RAW vignettes aired. Veer suffered a loss to Jaxson Ryker in the Oct. 28 edition of the Main Event, but he's since won 12 straight Main Event matches, including a win over improver talent Joe Alonzo in the Main Event taping ahead of this week's RAW . Veer has had the following WWE Main Event wins since the November 18 episode - John Morrison, Cedric Alexander, T-BAR, Shelton Benjamin, Akira Tozawa, T-BAR again, Apollo Crews, Crews again, Storm Grayson, Savion Truitt and Gary Heck. He also defeated Dominik Mysterio at WWE Live event on March 6 in Allentown, PA. Speaking of Veer wrestling Alonzo at this week's WWE Main Event taping, you can click here for spoilers from the pre-RAW taping. The other match recorded this week was T-BAR vs. The RAW. After WrestleMania 38 will air live on April 4th from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Stay tuned to learn more about Veer. You can see his latest vignette below, along with the post-RAW tweet: VEER MAHAAN is coming to #WWERaw after #WrestleMania! Seth Rollins again fails to secure a spot at WrestleMania

Rollins faced AJ Styles with a WrestleMania spot on the line (Author: Gardener)

WrestleManiaDespite opportunities to earn a seat at the upcoming WrestleMania 38 event in the last two episodes, Seth Rollins still has no place on the biggest show on the wrestling calendar. Rollins failed again on Monday night's Raw, losing a match with AJ Styles with a spot on the line to Edge at WrestleMania. Rollin's opportunity came after spending much of Raw fishing for his WrestleMania opportunity before interrupting a Styles promo and suggesting that "The Phenomenal One" would sit out WrestleMania and allow him to face Edge. Styles, winner against Edge. Seth Rollins spent the show continuing his quest for a way to get onto the WrestleMania card. These included the disruption of the tag match between The Mysterios and the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, and the disruption of AJ Styles' promo aimed at Edge. Rollins suggested that Styles sit out WrestleMania and instead allow him to face Edge. While Styles apparently refused, WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville announced that Rollins and Styles would meet later that evening, with the winner going on to win the match with Edge. AJ Styles def. Seth Rollins by disqualification after interference from Edge. After what was expected to be a solid match between Styles and Rollins, Edge ran to the ring and hit Styles in the back with a chair. This resulted in a disqualification and cost Rollins his chance to do WrestleMania. Rollins grabbed a mic after the match and announced that Raw would not be happening next week if he didn't get his WrestleMania match. Rollins then destroyed the ring area before the show went off the air. All problems with this story continued on Monday evening. Rollins was never believable as someone who wouldn't find himself on a two-day WrestleMania card, nor was it believable that WWE would throw away weeks of storytelling for Edge vs. Styles to haphazardly stick Rollins in the spot. So fans were just wondering how Rollins would come up short this week, and Chicago fans chanted the entire time for Cody Rhodes, who is believed to be the man who will face Rollins at WrestleMania when he returns to WWE returns. Owens cut a promo as Austin before Austin's music resumed - which was simply another ploy by Owens to stun a member of the ring crew before the segment ended. * The Mysterios def. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode via pinfall when Dominik Mysterio hit Roode with a frog splash. After the match, The Miz attacked Rey Mysterio and ripped off his mask. Commander Azeez & Apollo Crews via pinfall in a handicap match after hitting Crews with a chokebomb and pinning both men at the same time. * Natalya & Shayna defeated Baszler. Rhea Riley & Liv Morgan via pinfall when Baszler pinned Morgan after a hard attack. After the match, women's tag champions Queen Zelina and Carmella attacked both teams and came back on the same side after brawling backstage earlier in the night. * Becky Lynch cut a promo saying Bianca Belair isn't willing to sell her soul the same way she is to be at the top of the game, and she would do so again at WrestleMania to prove. The ending came after Pat McAfee repeatedly deflected Theory throughout the game. * RK-Bro def. Alpha Academy via pinfall when Riddle met Chad Gable with Bro Derek. After the match, Otis knocked out both members of RK-Bro before the Street Profits arrived and knocked out both members of Alpha Academy.

Becky Lynch will also address her attack on Bianca Belair last week. (Author: Gardener)

Becky LynchThe build-up to WrestleMania 38 continues as tonight's Raw takes place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. AJ Styles will return to Raw for the first time since Edge introduced it three weeks ago. Edge turned around after Styles accepted his challenge for a match at WrestleMania. Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch will appear tonight and address her attack on Bianca Belair from last week. Today it was announced that Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro will defend their titles in a triple threat match at WrestleMania against The Street Profits and Alpha Academy. US Champion Finn Balor also meets Austin Theory in a non-title match tonight. The theory led to Balor losing a match to Damian Priest last week. We'll also find out what's next for Seth Rollins after he once again seems unable to find his way to WrestleMania. Stone Cold Steve Austin's hit music and everyone in the crowd was fooled. Of course it was Kevin Owens in an Austin 3:16 t-shirt, jean shorts, knee braces and an ill-fitting bald head. Owens pretended to be Austin, mimicking his catchphrases and shouting "What" at the crowd. They booed loudly and chanted "You suck". Owens said Austin didn't think much when he accepted the WrestleMania invite, but that's because Austin didn't think much at all these days. The crowd chanted "We Want Austin" and Austin's music hit again. The crowd banged and Owens reacted in shock. The music stopped and Owens laughed and called them idiots. Owens called for a beer, but he missed every beer they threw at him. Owens accused the stagehand of throwing them badly, so he stunned him. In the background, Kevin Patrick asked Seth Rollins if he wasn't going to WrestleMania this year. The crowd chanted "Cody" loudly (louder than last week). Rollins laughed, grabbed the mic and left. The Miz entered with Ziggler and Roode and joined in the comments. A minute into the game, Rey and Dominik each dodge, as Seth Rollins' music hit and he took the stage. Rollins said he wanted a spot at WrestleMania and that he wanted something even bigger than Austin. Rey made a comeback on Roode before making the day with Dominik. Dominik had Roode pinned, but Ziggler broke the cover. Dominik gave Ziggler a cutter, but Roode responded with a spinebuster. After the match, Ziggler superkicked Dominik while Miz missed Rey with a skull crushing finale. Miz abruptly ripped off Rey's mask and the crowd booed loudly. Rey covered his face until Dominik got him a towel to cover. Rollins spoke to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville in the background. Pearce said stopping a match and acting like a maniac wouldn't get him what he wants. Deville told Rollins that he was the one who failed last week. Pearce told Rollins he would see what he could do. Miz got on the phone with Maryse and boasted about taking Rey's mask. Miz said Logan Paul grew up a big fan of Rey Mysterio, but you should never meet your heroes. Paul learned that Rey and Dominik were jerks and Miz was happy to humiliate them. Miz challenged Paul to wear the mask on next week's Raw. Crews and Azeez attacked Omos before the match officially started, but he fought them off. The bell rang and Omos gave Azeez a scoop slam before dropping Crews with a press slam. Omos gave Crews a tree slam, stacking it over Azeez and pinning them for the win. Omos cut a promo after the game. He challenged someone to join him at Raw or WrestleMania, but no matter who it was, they were going to be dominated.

He mockingly switches to imitating Austin and saying that everything KO said about Texas was right and he figured he'd do what he does best and keep his mealy mouth and accept KO's invitation. and Kev laughs because he knows Stone Cold isn't coming. He berates the stagehand for being poor and tells the guy to come in the ring and give him the beer. The guy does it and of course Owens kicks him in the stomach and hits the stunner! After the match, Dolph Dominik hangs up with a super kick and Miz gets up from the commentary to give Rey a skull crushing finale and rip off his mask! Seth Rollins is backstage with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville to claim a big WrestleMania match. Pearce tells him that pausing the show isn't getting him what he wants, but Rollins asks if relying on her is getting him what he wants. Adam says there might be something they can do, but Seth laughs and walks away to send us to break. Back from the commercial we get a summary of what we just saw. The Miz, wearing Rey Mysterio's mask, meets an interview backstage. He says Logan Paul was a Rey Mysterio fan as a kid and really wanted one of his masks, but poor little Logan grew up to find out what an idiot Rey was and the Mysterios showed them nothing but disrespect, so did he humiliated the Mysterios. Omos makes his entrance to send us to the break. Azeez Running Interference to get the crews going with a dropkick and an enzuigiri that sends Omos down! He shrugs off Commander, goozes on both guys, but Azeez fights back with body punches! Omos nails him with an uppercut, google Apollo and Azeez rams him into the post! Back inside, Omos is recovering and we finally get a bell! Boot lays out crews, he changes, big men line up and Omos picks him up with one hand and smacks him! Apollo with a diver's crossbody, he gets caught and dropped by the military press! A roundhouse kick knocks Azeez out, Omos lifts Crews up and tells him this is his fault before choking him! After the match, Omos says it doesn't matter how big or how many they are, he's undefeated and can't be stopped, and whoever has the balls can move up, whether it's Raw or WrestleMania, and they will do all be mastered. AJ Styles enters and we go on break.

Will Matt Ryan fix the Indianapolis Colts' fatal mistake with makeshift quarterbacks?

For the first time since Peyton Manning donned a horseshoe, the Indianapolis Colts have a former NFL MVP as quarterback. Whether or not newly acquired Matt Ryan will fix the franchise's "good, not great" problems is up for debate. (Author: Gardener)

Will Matt RyanFor the first time since Peyton Manning donned a horseshoe, the Indianapolis Colts have a former NFL MVP as quarterback. General Manager Chris Ballard managed to move up from Carson Wentz AND amassed draft assets in the process when he sent a third-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for the 2016 MVP. He will fill the void Wentz left when he was sent to the Washington Commanders last week in exchange for two third-round picks and a second-round pick swap. In the process, Indianapolis will absorb just a $9 million cap hit while the Falcons swallow more than $40 million in Ryan's dead cap space - an NFL record! Atlanta has undoubtedly deteriorated this year, apparently seeing Tom Brady's shadow hanging over the division and opting for a reset rather than stumbling to six or seven wins. Indianapolis got better because it traded Wentz -- the guy who lost to the woeful Jaguars with a playoff spot on the line last season -- with Ryan, whose post-season passer rating (100.8) is six points above his regular season mark (94.2). . For several years, they've looked like a team with a competing roster in need of a plug-and-play quarterback. How is a soon to be 37-year-old Ryan doing? Luckily for the Colts, history suggests he will impress in his debut season at Lucas Oil Stadium. There is a trend that extends across all four different Week 1 starters who played for Indianapolis under Ballard's stewardship. They all lasted just a year, from Andrew Luck's abrupt resignation to Wentz being herded into our nation's capital. But in the one season they spent as Colts, they played football much more efficiently. Starting with Luck's 2018 comeback season (Ballard's first as roster architect), we see overall improvements in completion rate, net yards per attempt (including sacks and turnovers), and passer rating in each quarterback's standalone season as Indy's starter. Compared to their career averages, each of these players had higher completion rates (3.2 points better), passed for more yards per game (only 5.4, but skewed both ways thanks to Jacoby Brissett's relative lack of experience and Wentz's 2021 low impact). , had higher touchdown rates, lower interception rates, and recorded a passer rating approximately 6.3 points higher than their typical year. If that hump applies to Ryan, here's roughly what we can expect from him in 2022: 68 percent completion rate, 275 yards per game, 5.2 percent touchdown rate, 1.7 percent interception rate, 7.7 adjusted yards per attempt and a 100.5 passer rating put together for a season of 4,600 yards, 32 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a top 10 passer rating. Of course, there's no guarantee of that -- especially when the majority of quarterbacks in this sample size were in their late 20s and Ryan is nearing his late 30s. Let's take a closer look at what happened to Philip Rivers to see if that can better analyze the fate of Indianapolis' newest starting QB. Rivers increased his efficiency and completion rate in his 2020 season at age 39 by throwing shorter passes at Indiana than he normally did as a Charger. His air meters per attempt (AY/A) fell from 8.5 last season in Los Angeles to 7.2 on his Colts debut. This is not uncommon for this offensive under head coach Frank Reich; Wentz' AY/A fell from 8.8 as an Eagle in 2020 to 7.2 in 2021. Rivers had also dramatically scaled back his deep attempts, thanks in no small part to a limited receiving corps. He attempted 73 passes from 20+ yards in 2019. That number dropped to just 47 in Indianapolis. Wentz threw more often but improved from 4.4 deep balls per game as the Eagle to 3.3 as the Colt. Ryan could see a similar use, though his lack of big throws was already evident last season for the busy Falcons; His 7.1 AY/A in 2021 was significantly lower than 2020's 8.5. He threw 28 fewer deep balls last season despite playing one more regular-season game. Barring a late dip in the free-agent market or a squander in the 2022 draft (where Ballard has no first-round pick thanks to last year's Wentz deal), that's unlikely to change. That sucks for the team's passing offense and it feels like a waste for Ryan given his history. We've seen how declining arm strength in recent years has robbed veterans like Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger of their ability in the field, forcing their offense to adapt to them. Indianapolis already has an old man offense ready to go. Anything Ryan can offer beyond that downfield is a bonus. Let's dig a little deeper into Rivers' singles season in Indianapolis. His Adjusted Expected Points Per Game (adj. EPA/game), which measures an individual player's overall impact on the game, increased 10 percent in his only year as a Colt compared to the previous three seasons, growing from .206 to .206. 226 - the latter number seventh among the falling QBs. What a typical QB might achieve depending on the down, distance, pass type, etc. dropped from 2.8 percent as a Charger to just 0.8 percent in Indy. Ryan hasn't been as effective as a Falcon in his last three seasons and picked up an adj. EPA/Play of 0.167 despite a CPOE similar to Rivers' at 2.5 percent. That Rivers might be better equipped to make the leap to the Midwest despite being older, and that he could play consistently even without the deep throws that helped him in Los Angeles. (Wentz, for the record, improved slightly on adj. EPA/Play from 2018-20 to 2021 but had a -2.0 CPOE, ranking between Justin Fields and Roethlisberger at the bottom of last season's NFL rankings ). The only player in that group to lead Indianapolis to a playoff win was Luck, who quit the following preseason. Rivers was the only other quarterback to reach the postseason, where he needed 49 passes for 309 yards and ultimately failed to lead a game-winning drive in the final 2:30 of regulation against the Bills. Ryan could be better. He's 4-3 in his last seven playoff games and has a 17-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio in that stretch. However, this last appearance dates back more than four years. The Indianapolis stopgap quarterbacks trendline suggests Ryan will have the best numbers of any Colts QB over the past five seasons, but will ultimately have less impact than Rivers before him. That's not ideal, but it's better than Wentz, whose hollow scoring stats failed to capture how disappointing he was on an offense that only needed a steady hand up front to make it into the postseason. Ryan is a more deserving captain of this ship. If Ballard finds a way to upgrade the receiving corps around him, he has a chance to make this deal look like a monumental coup for the Colts. If not, Indiana will have another year of football purgatory. How Duke's best five minutes of basketball this season saved it all as he recovered late behind Michigan State

The Blue Devils were behind the Spartans late but refused to lose and are headed for the Sweet 16 as a result (Author: Gardener)

DukeThe moment really had finally come. On a Sunday in South Carolina, Duke had to prove himself. The second-placed Blue Devils were down 70-65 to No. 7 Michigan with five minutes left in this frenzied second-round NCAA tournament game. The prospect of Mike Krzyzewski retiring had entered the room and hung in the air. Michigan State didn't come to play—it came to break up Duke. Tom Izzo's team looked hungry, opportunistic and alert. Deep in the second half, the Spartans showed they could spoil things for Duke and retire Krzyzewski a few weeks earlier than he wanted. "I thought when we came down — we were young there for a while, and I wondered if we were going to stay young," Krzyzewski said. Making matters even more problematic for Duke was his weak starter A. He was reduced to a spectator after apparently injuring his left ankle with 8:32 remaining and Duke over 63-61. So, here were these fun but flawed Blue Devils, their top scorer but a fan. MSU went three minutes after Griffin's injury for the first time since going 11-11 in the first half when Tyson Walker hit a 3-pointer sunk to 68:65. You're at this point, you've seen the headline, you've probably seen the game or caught highlights. Who knows where, when, or how this Duke season will end? It could be Thursday at Sweet 16, in San Francisco vs. It could be in the ultimate game in New Orleans with a national championship at stake. But it remains an unknown about the five-minute game time to complete Sunday's game. "What a game," said Krzyzewski. "It was reminiscent of the Final Four games. Both teams were very proud from all the effort today. We are very proud to have won this game because we beat a damn good team who are obviously as well trained as any others in the country." " There is a possibility that the final five minutes of Sunday's 85-76 win over Michigan State could become the best and/or most important stretch of Duke's campaign. The Blue Devils responded to their biggest deficit of the night by defeating Michigan State From the moment the game went 70-65 in MSU's favour, Duke had by far his best defensive run of the season "My guys were so strong in the last six minutes of the game," Krzyzewski said "In the last four, five minutes the defense was incredible." From the time the game was 70-65, it ended like this in terms of efficiency: The Blue Devils went on a 15-4 run that also included an 8th -0 run included, finishing the game overall with a 20-6 hammer -throw to launch into the regional semifinals."We went into a little different coverage all over the court, like a soft, soft press , only so they don't run because they really can run," Krzyzewski said. “Then we started – we wanted to trade 1 to 5. Mark (Williams) has improved enough in his lateral movement over the year to be able to stay up front and he did that.” Duke needed that. They knew it was coming. MSU was too well trained, too deep, too rich in scorers and slashers smelling some blood. The situation at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena was immediate and urgent, and Duke knew it. But they haven't addressed the looming possibility that this game and the season could end. "Losing never happened once," said Wendell Moore Jr. Over the course of five minutes, Duke defended Michigan State with a 2-of-9 shooting and a turnover. "You won't talk about losing or you lose," said Krzyzewski. Paolo Banchero showed some of his best at both ends. He started Duke's run with a layup. A few possessions later, Banchero took the dribble from Hauser and pushed him back. A move between face-off ball and top pick-in-the-draft stuff, Banchero gently kissed his shot off the glass to put Duke 75-74 ahead with 2:05 left. Hauser was blocked by Banchero when attempting to turn to the left for subsequent possession. A great moment for Banchero. Duke had gained momentum. "I knew once we got our foot in the door there was no turning back from there," Moore said, later adding that when the team was together at the under-four time-out, we "just in eyes saw and we knew we weren't going to lose." Banchero had a block, Williams had a block, Moore had a steal. And Jeremy Roach hit the 3-pointer that gave Duke a four-pointer with 1:16 to go -Gave the lead. That ball, coming in as the shot clock ran out, was the biggest shot of the second half. It put Duke to four and seemed to scare Michigan State. Roach was the guy when Griffin couldn't play. "He did wanted that ball," said Krzyzewski. "He wanted that ball in. Those were really some of the best drives I've seen as a Duke coach, especially under pressure." Possession ensued and another great defensive play ensued when Moore stole an absent-minded pass from Christie. He was right there and Christie was the one Freshman, didn't even see Moore."In the last five minutes, I think they took every shot," Izzo said.Duke was 5-5 off the field for the last five minutes; The only misses came at the foul line When the clock ran out, Krzyzewski and his staff couldn't hold back their smiles, their relief, their joy. Here in Greenville, a second win had been clinched, which was not the case five years ago, as South Carolina's No. 2 Duke No.7 was upset.Krzyzewski hadn't looked this cheerful in weeks. It almost felt like a defeat before the regional semifinals would be the embarrassing end of an unprecedented Kar have been - and rightly so. "Look, I'm 75," Krzyzewski said. "To have moments like this, you have to be kidding me. I don't want to sit down and say, 'You're enjoying it.' "I want to celebrate a little bit. That's the joy that I have, that I've had for 47 years. By the way, what a way for K. to get career win #1,200. Both records his, from This is also his 26 .Sweet 16 trip, another record Krzyzewski got emotional in his opening address to the media with Banchero, Trevor Keels, Moore, Roach and Williams sitting next to him."I'm incredibly proud of my boys," Krzyzewski said with a tremor in tone. I'm really proud to be your coach. It had nothing to do with coaching the last four or five minutes. It was all about heart and togetherness. They followed their hearts and God bless them. We are in the Sweet 16." The final head-to-head between Krzyzewski and Izzo was gripping. Duke retired late, but it was a dubious contest for 39 of his 40 minutes. The potential was there for everything to end for Duke and K and ruin Michigan State. Instead, Krzyzewski's players showed up and showed such a gripping and convincing performance as they had all season. Seeing them at that stretch was a reminder that if Duke can find that zone, they're just as dangerous as any other team in the country.
