March 16thNearly a year after the day of her epic Match-of-the-Year Candidates Lights Out match, AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker DMD her title against Thunder Rosa in the main event of a special Dynamite St. Patty's Day Slam edition. The Steel Cage match, designed to keep Baker's cohorts Rebel and Jamie Hayter away, headlined a show that also included a blockbuster six-man tag team match with World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page, a TNT title defense by the new champion Scorpio Sky and the beginning of the Jericho Appreciation Society. What was going on, name changes and how did that affect the company as it set out to build the Double or Nothing pay-per-view? Find out with this recap of the March 16 event episode.Steel Cage Match for the AEW Women's Championship: Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD (c) AEW World Champion Hangman Page and AEW Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express vs. Adam Cole and Red Dragon Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs. Adam Cole and Red Dragon The rivalry between AEW World Champion Hangman Page and Top contender Adam Cole continued in the night's opener as the former teamed up with AEW tag champions Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) to take on Red Dragon's Cole and Kyle O'Reil ly and Bobby Fish . The match took its time to heat up, but once it did, with Jungle Boy tagging Luchasaurus and Page confronting Cole, things quickly escalated. The crowd came alive and the spots built on the previous one until Cole lowered the boom to Jungle Boy for the hard-fought victory while Red prevented Dragon Page from making the save Share of excellent in-ring offers, at least based on his stacked card. The triple moonsault was a great spot, bursting the crowd after a few unusually quiet minutes into the night's opener. Red Dragon is great at isolating and picking apart a babyface. It has long been a weakness of the officiating team, especially Rick Knox. The double Doomsday Device was a great location and a stylish tribute to the legendary Road Warriors. Backstage, Keith Lee vowed to see Powerhouse Hobbs and FTW Champion Ricky Starks on Friday night's Rampage. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs. Wheeler Yuta and Chuck Taylor The dominant, devastating team of Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley took on Best Friends' Wheeler Yuta and Chuck Taylor, the latter two joined by Orange Cassidy and Danhausen while William Regal looked on the comment position. Moxley and Danielson were oppressive, overwhelming and outclassing their opponents while Regal seemed to be having the time of his life with Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur on the headset. A performance defined by quick tags, well-aimed attacks and a clinical approach ended with the dream team of Moxley and Danielson claiming the advanced squash win. Before the match, a video package promised th The development of Kris Statlander. She's really good at that grappling thing. Regal, Cassidy, and Danhausen have all been involved in the same segment on professional wrestling television, and if that's not the coolest thing on the planet, then what is? Ross compared Moxley and Danielson to Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson. It's comparison hell, not just for the in-ring style, but for their status as two accomplished single stars. Yuta firing up in the face of a relentless barrage earned him the support of the fans, truly a first for AEW .Yuta leaving Best Friends after the match and reaching out to Regal was great, as was the Brit's nasty slap in the face, which acted as a sign of respect. This potential pairing will be one to watch for the coming weeks. A week after stunning the world by betraying Santana and Ortiz and forming the Jericho Appreciation Society, Chris Jericho ushered 2point0, Daniel Garcia and Jake Hager into the ring for a formal start-is-me promo, in which he discussed whined about being unappreciated by fans and pulled great heel heat by calling himself a sports entertainer. He denounced the "silly name of Bad Creative" 2point0, renaming its contestants (Matt Manard and Angelo Parker) and giving nicknames to Garcia (The Masque of the Red Death) and Hager (Hand of the King) before ending the era of the sports entertainer ushered in AEW in a segment that was infinitely better than it should be. Sports entertainer Jericho, in a company dedicated to pro wrestling, can generate the most heat of his career, and that's a statement from hell. Jericho, who dubbed himself a sports entertainer to get massive heat, was great, manipulative heel heat a bit on the nose and absolutely perfect. Wardlow was an unstoppable force in AEW late and on Wednesday night, throughout most of his TNT Championship game against Scorpio Sky it looked like he was going to win his first title. The young star was a great piece of storytelling and allowed his emotions and anger to do so Getting the best out of him, diverting his focus from the beaten and battered champion. The insufferable Dan Lambert and "Chairman" Shawn Spears sucked him in, allowing MJF to slam and cost his former bodyguard victory in an otherwise one-sided squash match that did the overshadowed heavens no favors and his efforts to be serious as champion to be taken. Lambert, wearing the second TNT championship around his waist, is a magnificent piece of unbearable heel work and a nod to his real belt collecting. The look on MJF's face as he thought he was going to be Wardlow's next prey is exactly what makes this feud and babyface push work so well. The crowd chanting for CM Punk, only he didn't show up, was a nice callback to Wardlow, who stood by (and even took part) in his attack by MJF and The Pinnacle. The Hardys made their debut in tag team action in AEW, facing Private against Party in what might have been sort of a generations dream match before creativity sapped young heels of any momentum two years ago. Despite their creative flaws, Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy got to hang out with Matt and Jeff Hardy and defeat the future Hall of Famers throughout the commercial. Jeff's hot day prompted one of the loudest reactions of the evening and moments later The Charismatic Enigma repaid their love and support with a Swanton Bomb for victory in a match that might not have lived up to expectations but was a strong AEW introduction nonetheless into one of the best teams of all time. The pop that accompanies the Hardys' candid seconds of music is special, showing the connection the team has with fans, not to mention the impact they've witnessed in the industry over the last two decades. When Jeff realized Kassidy was too close to the ropes for his finisher and a standard splash was heard, it was an underrated veteran move from a man who was synonymous with w There was instinct rather than logic. Darby Allin and Sting parried for the winners after Andrade, The Butcher, The Blade and The Bunny made their presence felt.

AEW Dynamite St. Patrick's Day Slam Results (3/16) - Steel Cage Women's Title Match, Hardys compete

At today's AEW Dynamite St. Patrick's Day Slam, Britt Baker will defend her AEW Women's Title in a steel cage against Thunder Rosa. (Author: Gardener)

AEW Dynamite St. Patrick'sThe two men then avoid kneeling each other, but the younger wrestler then connects with a dropkick to take control. Cole responds with a sharp knee to the chest, and Bobby Fish comes in, who starts working the arm. However, Luchasaurus jumps in and starts dropping everyone in sight with big, heavy punches. The heels land on the outside and the big man attempts a moonsault, but Fish kicks his leg off on the ring apron. He is then sent into the ring post and Fish continues his attack. O'Reilly then chimes in and starts punching down the taller man in the corner as they do tags frequently. However, Luchasaurus is able to fight back and Page tags in as he flies Fish while then lunging out of the ring twice in a row to take out the rest of his opponents. Back in the ring, Hangman hits a pop-up powerbomb but Fish kicks out. Jungle Boy tag and then jump over the top rope to wipe everyone out. Back in the ring, Jungle Boy goes to the top rope, but Fish's partners end up being fought off as well. The three babyfaces all moonsault at the same time, with the triple pull connecting everyone, on the floor and in the ring. Adam Cole then walks in and begins isolating Jungle Boy, allowing Fish to get back in and kick him out. O'Reilly then works on a leg submission while Cole has Hangman locked in one, but they fall into the legal men and break it up. Page then switches in and he and Cole start beating each other up. O'Reilly knocks the dinosaur down, but when he's on his knees, Jungle Boy runs at him and hits a clothesline. Page and Luchasuarus then each have an opponent on their shoulders and Jungle Boy hits a double doomsday device! Jungle Boy then targets Fish and starts attacking him, but Adam Cole manages to make a blind tag and he hits the Boom to pin Jungle Boy! – Backstage, Ricky Starks tells Keith Lee that they whipped his ass when they came on his show last week. He says if he goes back on Rampage they'll kick him out again. Lee says same as when he hit him? Before the bell, Bryan Danielson walks right behind Wheeler Yuta and starts the match early. Then Jon Moxley comes in with a kick and a delayed vertical suplex. Bryan comes back and continues his attack on Yuta in the corner. The two make frequent tags and keep stomping on their opponent. However, Yuta puts up a fight by dropkicking Yuta as Chuck Taylor comes in and pushes Moxley off the apron and jumps out, bringing him down again. Back in the ring, Taylor ties in a one-legged crab, but he gets a blind tag. Then Moxley comes in with a big boot as he hangs Taylor from the apron. Outside the ring, Bryan attacks Taylor, sending him into the barricade. He then switches back and nails a big kick to the chest while then jumping back to set an Indian Deathlock. Moxley comes back with a short dropkick and a few chops. Bryan works Taylor's back and Moxley comes back, but he smashes Wheeler down first. Moxley then hits a piledriver, but he gets out just in time. Bryan then misses with a dropkick in the corner but he is still able to regain control to stop a tag as Jon then returns. Taylor catches him with a knee and he falls in a tag. Yuta hits an inverted atomic drop and then forearms into the corner. Yuta eats a forearm but hangs onto the bottom rope, only to be dragged down with a clothesline as he rebounds. However, Yuta continues to fight and hits a German suplex into a bridge, but Moxley kicks out and then hits a cutter to Yuta. They then encounter a combo attack, but Chuck breaks the pin. He takes Moxley out of the ring, but Jon bites him and then hits the Paradigm Shift. Yuta then eats a lot of kicks from Bryan, but he avoids the big one only for Moxley to come in and break things up. While Yuta is also fighting him, Bryan then hits a suplex into a bridge but doesn't win. Bryan then tramples him again as Moxley comes in to win the match with the Bulldog submission. - After the match, the rest of the best friends go to the back, but Wheeler Yuta goes in the ring. Yuta then tunes in to him, which alarms Bryan and Jon. The two engage in a war of words as he then goes to the back. - FTR are backstage and Cash Wheeler says Tully Blanchard lost focus and if you do you lose the job. Dax says things have gotten out of hand, but this causes The Young Bucks to show up. – The Acclaimed are shown backstage cutting a promo for Keith Lee. But Ricky Starks breaks them up and tells them it's time to deal with the new faces. Matt Lee says if it were up to him there would be no sing-alongs, but that makes Jericho a better man than he is. Jeff Parker says that's why he deserves to be idolized for his contributions to the industry and as a person. He even builds companies like this, he says, without Jericho there is no AEW. Jericho says people don't appreciate him, AEW's list doesn't appreciate him, and neither does The Inner Circle. Chris says these men appreciate him. Chris says a pro wrestler wasn't a legendary millionaire, but Jericho isn't. Daniel Garcia then says that if Jericho will call himself a sports entertainer, then he is. Jericho says Garcia appreciates him because there was a car accident that injured a wrestler and Jericho had never heard of them. Jericho says he got a call a year ago from his former best friend Kevin wanting him to put his friends on his podcast, these men were 2.0. Then they got hired and that's why they appreciate him. Jericho then says Jake Hager is his right hand and he is the hand of the king. Hager says they are the JAS and they beat up pro wrestlers. Jericho says this is the latest reinvention and the date that the sports entertainer era begins. Scorpio Sky carries the fight to Wardlow, but he simply picks it up, dropping the champion to the mat. However, Sky comes back into the corner with some kicks and punches. He then bites his head, but Wardlow just gets angry and charges him into the corner several times before dropping Sky to the mat. The fight spreads outwards and Sky takes advantage and charges Wardlow into the ring apron. Back in the ring, he continues to attack his legs with punches. But the bigger man turns things around with some big chops. Despite this, he brings the big man back into the corner and tramples on him. However, Wardlow attempts to power just for the champion to land several more strikes, but the challenger then connects with several belly-to-belly suplexes. Sky searches for the cutter above the top rope, but Wardlow then attempts to hit a powerbomb only for Sky to climb out. However, Wardlow is able to hit a one arm chokeslam. He's looking for a four, but Dan Lambert gets on the apron to create a distraction. This allows Sky to roll out of the ring. Wardlow then searches the floor for one, but Shawn Spears then appears with two chairs. He encourages Spears to come to the ring, but as Spears is talking to the ref, MJF appears and sends Wardlow into the ring post. As Wardlow steps into the ring, Sky rolls him in for the win. After the match, Austin Vanderford jumps on Wardlow and starts punching. However, the big man then fights back on everyone, leaving Wardlow and MJF behind. He catches MJF, but before he can hit the powerbomb, Spears nails a chair shot. The group knocks him out again when Spears hits Wardlow in the head with a chair shot. MJF then pays off Dan Lambert and MJF uses the ring to dump his former bodyguard. Marq Quen first tries to hide in the corner, causing Matt Hardy to start a "erase" chant. However, it quickly leads to all four men interfering and brawling. Matt works on Quen's arm, and Jeff then walks in as the brothers work together, which includes some classic Hardys offenses as he runs and jumps off his brother's back. Matt then works his way back in, but is knocked out with an enziguri. Isiah Kennedy comes in and the duo hit a good doubles team of their own. Matt then looks for a Razors Edge, but Kennedy runs away. He squeezes the face of Jeff who is trying to get in and this causes the referee to get distracted. Private Party then pulls Matt by his legs into the ring post and they then throw him into the barricade. Private Party then corners Matt's Delete attack while Jeff again argues with the ref and allows the heels to land many cheap shots. Matt looks for a side effect, but Quen sends him out of the ring. Hardy drops Kennedy with an outside punch, but he flips and Marq flies over the ropes at him. The young team continues to isolate Matt. They try to taunt her with the corner run, but Matt catches Kennedy and side effects his partner. This allows Matt to tag in and he gets things rolling with multiple pinning predicaments. Jeff goes to the top rope but gets distracted. This sets Jeff up for a splash, but Kennedy is able to kick out. Private Party then looks for Silly String, but the Hardys counter with a double Twist Of Fates while Jeff follows with a Swanton Bomb for the win. Thunder Rosa makes a grand entrance with a band and gets a huge reaction in front of her own fans. Britt Baker immediately tries to climb into the cage, but Rosa pulls her down for a fight. Britt does this several times, each time Rosa pulls her down. Rosa gets a big kick to the face and then a clothesline to knock the champion down. Rosa then tries to take advantage of the environment and throws Britt headfirst into the steel. We're not wasting time on the blood here, Britt has split open and is being dragged across the steel by her face to make matters worse. However, Britt fights back and pushes Rosa into the steel several times herself. The champion then hooks Thunder around the ropes and starts punching them. Britt also hammers in several knee shots, now with the challenger bleeding as well. This time it's Rosa's time to eat the steel as Britt throws her in. The champion then pulls out some chairs from under the ring, but she misses as she attacks Thunder and she charges in with several clotheslines. Rosa then gets the chair and uses it multiple times before hitting the stunner! Rosa then charges into the corner and follows her with a double knee kick. Rosa hits the dropkick in the corner but Britt kicks out. The referee is then accidentally superkicked down by Baker, and as they then go to a roll-up, the referee is thrown out of the ring. Thunder hits the Fire Thunder Driver, but there's no referee to count! Rosa goes to the top rope but Britt hits her with multiple chair shots. Then they build a hill of chairs together and hit an avalanche air raid crash but there is no referee. Aubrey Edwards comes in but Rosa steps out! Britt then sets out four chairs, all upright this time. Rosa fights her way out, and the two stand on the top rope, pacing back and forth until Britt falls back, her spine landing on the chairs. Britt kicks out of the pinfall, but she then hits a superkick and goes to get some thumbtacks and she uses the bag to swing at Thunder's head. Rosa counters Brit's plan but then gets a back body drop on the thumbtacks only for Rosa to exit! However, Baker fights back and hits her in the face with a chair. Rosa then slams the Fire Thunder Driver into the tacks and we have a NEW Women's Champion!

Live scores from AEW Dynamite

The AEW Women's World title is at stake tonight in a steel cage match. (Author: Gardener)

AEW DynamiteThe AEW Women's World title will be decided in a steel cage match with Dr. Britt Baker, D, at stake. The TNT Championship will also be up for grabs as new defending champion Scorpio Sky defends against Face of the Revolution ranked match winner Wardlow. The Hardys will make their AEW debut in the ring as a team when Matt and Jeff take on Private Party's Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen. Following its formation in last week's episode, the Jericho Appreciation Society will hold a launch ceremony tonight. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson, with William Regal in their corner, take on Chuck Taylor and Wheeler Yuta, with Orange Cassidy and Danhausen in their corner. AEW World Champion Hangman Page takes on Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly with AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. Jungle Boy and Cole started, with the former gaining the upper hand after a hurricanrana. Luchasaurus and Fish came in and the big man finished everyone off with skillet chops. reDRagon rolled to the ground and kicked out Luchasaurus' leg. They isolated him in the corner with frequent marks. Eventually the dinosaur exploded and reached Page for the tag. Page slammed into everyone and hit Fish with a fallaway slam, a pescado on Cole and O'Reilly, and then a tope suicida on both of them to make sure. He hit a pop-up powerbomb on Fish for two. Fish rolled out of the way of the buckshot, but Jungle Boy wiped everyone out with a flip dive. Page, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus hit three moonsaults simultaneously and Jungle Boy's cover on Fish got two. With the ref distracted, Cole landed a kick at Jungle Boy and reDRagon hit a combination offense for two. They continued to isolate Jungle Boy with a commercial break. Once back, Jungle Boy hit the rebound lariat, earning Luchasaurus for the day. Luchasaurus took out all three opponents, finishing with Fish chokeslamming O'Reilly and a moonsault double pin for two. He and Jungle Boy prepared for the Doomsday Device, but reDRagon countered it. O'Reilly put Luchasaurus in a knee bar, but Page overpowered Cole to break him up. Page and Cole swap in and hit each other. Page hit the deadeye, then we got a parade of big moves. Jungle Boy hit a double doomsday device for a good near fall, but reDRagon hit the high low and Cole lowered the boom for the win. Keith Lee and Team Taz were backstage. Lee will face Max Caster on Rampage, but Starks told Lee not to appear on his show and then attacked him. Starks said if Lee showed up again, the same thing would happen. Moxley and Danielson attacked right at the bell and just knocked the devil out of YUTA at the start. YUTA finally got some space and tagged in Chuckie, who landed a plancha on Moxley before locking Danielson in a one-legged crab. Danielson got Moxley a tag knocking out Chuckie as Regal's team regained its dominance through a commercial. Back again, YUTA got something of a hot day, but was quickly lassoed by Moxley. YUTA landed a German suplex bridge for a two, but a brief distraction from Danielson allowed Moxley to hit a jumping cutter, followed by a Hart Attack for a two. Moxley DDT'd Chuckie on the floor while Danielson put yes kicks in the ring. YUTA fired at Danielson but was taken out with a Saito suplex. Danielson bypassed another for a good near miss. He then kicks in YUTA's head, followed by Moxley, who tags in and uses the bulldog choke for the submission. - After the match, YUTA turned away from the best friends walking up the ramp and offered a handshake to Regal. The Young Bucks came and taunted them by saying they would always be the second best tag team in AEW. They both talked about how Caster would beat Keith Lee at Rampage. Matt Lee said the only reason fans could sing "Judas" was because Jericho made it possible. "Jericho is a better man than me." Jeff Parker said Jericho deserved to be praised and idolized for his contributions to wrestling and as a person. Jericho said the earth has been around for 4.5 billion years and we are fortunate to be around at the same time as he was. "If there were no Chris Jericho, there would be no AEW." But instead of praising Jericho, people on social media complain and insult him. Jericho isn't: he's a "sports entertainer." Garcia said that if Jericho describes himself as a sports entertainer, "so am I." Jericho addressed Garcia, citing his notable car accident in January 2019 — to which Jericho had donated. Jericho said 2point0 ("A bad name from bad creative") would use their real names from now on. He said he's the reason they have a job at AEW (after a call from Kevin Owens). Jericho said Hager was the "King's Hand". Hager said, "We are the JAS and we beat up pro wrestlers." Jericho concluded by saying that this date heralded the era of sports entertainer at AEW. Wardlow grabbed his stomach with his shoulders and slammed Sky, who rolled to the ground. On the outside, VanZant and Vanderford distracted Wardlow, allowing Sky to hit a baseball chute and take control. Upon returning, Sky taunted Wardlow in the corner, resulting in the big man taking down the champion with overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. Sky escaped a powerbomb attempt, but Wardlow was still able to hit a spinebuster. He called for the Powerbomb Symphony and hit one, then another, then a third. On a fourth, Lambert deflected Wardlow and sent Sky rolling to the ground. MJF then came out of nowhere and drove Wardlow into the ring post. Sky then bowled Wardlow to victory. – After the match, everyone tried to knock Wardlow down, but Wardlow fought off everyone and isolated MJF. He had MJF in powerbomb position but Spears hit Wardlow with a chair and Vanderford pinned a sleeper. Wardlow apparently has no friends to make the save with. Spears then hit Wardlow over the head with the chair as MJF paid Lambert off for the assist. MJF hit Wardlow with the Dynamite Diamond Ring and posed to close the segment. Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling were backstage. He and Jeff turned back the clock early with a doubles team. The Hardys isolated Quen with frequent markings. Private Party returns fire with a double team on mate. With the officer distracted, Private Party pushed Matt around the ring post, allowing them to take control of the commercial. Back from the break, Quen used a distraction to land Matt a great Tope con Giro. Private party beat a double team for two. Matt was finally able to reach Jeff for the hot day. Jeff ran at Kassidy with some cool leg drops, including one that got into a pinning predicament for a two. Matt side effected Quen, then Jeff hit a top rope splash on Kassidy for two. Kassidy countered a Twist of Fate, Matt stopped the silly string, then the Hardys each hit Twists of Fate. Jeff then landed the Swanton Bomb for the win. Red Velvet was backstage. She said Leyla Hirsch has changed - she was her friend, but now Velvet will put an end to it. AEW Women's World Championship: Dr. Britt Baker, D.

Dolph Ziggler is the NXT Champion. That seemed unlikely until recently, but now The Showoff is once again at the helm of a wrestling brand... (Author: Gardener)

March 15thDolph Ziggler is the NXT Champion. He made it with the help of Robert Roode and they celebrated on Miz TV during Tuesday's WWE NXT 2.0. In the first qualifier for the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match, Cameron Grimes fought Santos Escobar. A-Kid made his debut in NXT 2.0 by taking on one of the brand's most dangerous technical wrestlers, Kushida. Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta were best friends, but they could now be worst enemies. The two had been ready to fight for two weeks and finally got their chance on this show. Tuesday's broadcast featured a fresh collection of matches putting young stars to the test en route to NXT Stand & Deliver. The Miz introduced his friend and new NXT Champion Dolph to Ziggler with Robert Roode. It was revealed that Bron Breakker was sent home to avoid a scene, but LA Knight arrived to challenge Ziggler instead. The Million Dollar Mega Star convinced The Showoff to fight him in the main event. The A-lister made it official. Knight talked his way into a championship match just a week after losing to Grayson Waller. It feels like that could have been explained better. Still, this was a fun, simple segment that hardly needed Miz's involvement. This was all about adding spark to a map that lacked big matches. Miz sat out Knight Big for his skills in the ring and on the mic. This is likely a feud that WWE will revisit across the board. Knight seemed at home alongside three guys who won gold on the main list. The A-lister was popular. Just like Knight. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams joined the comments to follow this match closely. Cameron Grimes found his chances against Santos Escobar but couldn't quash it thanks to Legado Del Fantasma. Grimes wanted the cave-in, but Escobar turned him into the Phantom Driver to win. This was an exciting back-and-forth between two of NXT 2.0's best. The near falls were memorable and didn't overly rely on the two men's signature moves. It was surprising to see Grimes lose, but Escobar was well protected in NXT - even more so than The Technical Savage. It's still possible that Grimes could find his way into the ladder match. Legado Del Fantasma intervened, allowing Escobar to trip Grimes off the apron. Grimes almost claimed victory with an impressive variation of Spanish Fly. Melo had a great line on the comments his create-a-wrestler has a better rating than any man in the ring. It's a shame The A Champion didn't get a spot in WWE 2K22. NXT showed a quick video package for A-Kid ahead of his match. During the previous competition, it was also announced that the winner of this match would face Grayson Waller in a qualifier for the NXT North American Championship ladder match Switch. It felt like the opening act of an exciting series. Kid has to work to sell himself to a fresh audience. He can certainly show himself if he earns a spot in ranked play. Kushida had a great set of moves that allowed him to always find a way back into an armbar. Kushida's punt on Kid from the corner echoed around the arena. Tiffany Stratton attacked Sarray on her way to the ring and made sure she couldn't transform by ripping off her necklace. After the bell rang, it was less than a minute before Stratton clinched victory over a corkscrew senton off the second rope. This was the best segment Stratton has participated in to date. This rivalry is taking shape. The Sun Warrior deserves better than losing to green artists in general, but she'll likely get her win back in a fair fight. And she now has even more reason not to like her new rival.Stratton hit a smooth corkscrew senton from the corner.Tony D'Angelo shoots at Tommaso Ciampa before NXT Stand & DeliverTommaso Ciampa explained the gratitude he felt for NXT. He's disappointed that he won't be the NXT Champion at WrestleMania weekend and he said he had no idea what he would do. Tony D'Angelo walked in with a crowbar he had dropped. He said he respects The Blackheart, but after they shook hands to agree to a match at NXT Stand & Deliver, D'Angelo knelt between his legs. Before he leaves, he will help defeat Tony D. This match makes a lot of sense as a continuation of D'Angelo's feud with Pete Dunne. He goes after NXT Originals and sends them into the main lineup. Ciampa mentioned how much he appreciated the fans booing him and they responded by booing him. D'Angelo kissed Ciampa on the cheek in his final nod to "The Godfather." Persia Pirotta went after Indi Hartwell's wedding ring, which started Indi Wrestling. Duke Hudson intervened to distract Hartwell, but Dexter Lumis came on to counter. This allowed Hartwell to roll up Pirotta for three. This was a fine segment, even though the match barely started before it was over. What worked best was that Hartwell and Pirotta fought less like rivals and more like sisters just trying to steal the spotlight Pirotta and Hudson had a post-match snogging contest with Hartwell and Lumis that was more awkward than anything else. Raul Mendoza agreed to fight Dominik. Raul Mendoza was no match for Dominik Mysterio without the help of Legado Del Fantasma. This allowed Dominik to hit a 619 and win a frog splash. This was as big a star as Dominik has ever felt and proved he could make a big impact from a run in NXT. He's a smooth performer who could benefit from wrestling talent with a variety of styles. NXT 2.0 has benefited from some crossovers with Raw, although this often results in NXT talent losing out. Mysterio would be special. The crowd got behind Dominik in a way no main roster crowd had before. Dakota Kai and Wendy Choo told Toxic Attraction that they didn't appreciate their recent interference. She then attempted to steal Mandy Rose's car, but the NXT Women's Champion caught her and put her down. She sprayed Jade's back and stood with Toxic Attraction. Using the environment to capture Jayne and Dolin was a great example of what The Skater can excel at. She was well set up as an underdog for a big title match against Rose. Afterwards, the Creed Brothers took the ring and demanded to know who attacked them. However, MSK also wanted their title match. Imperium agreed to a triple threat at NXT Stand & Deliver for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Malcolm Bivens interviewed The Grizzled Young Veterans, as well as Edris Enofe and Malik Blade. Zack Gibson and James Drake were poised to fight Julius and Brutus Creed next week if it gave them a future title match. The tag team division in NXT is fascinating. The triple threat should be great and all three teams have the potential to run with the gold. However, the Creed Brothers deserve a standard title match if they don't win at NXT Stand & Deliver. Jade locked Jayne in a cage and Dolin in a dumpster .Tommaso Ciampa vs. Tony D'Angelo, Rose vs. Jade and tag team Triple Threat became official for NXT Stand & Deliver. Backstage, Gunther told LA Knight that he didn't appreciate him jumping the line. Bron Breakker came on as Knight seemed to find his stride against Ziggler. Roode distracted Knight enough to get Ziggler close to the apron. Ziggler sent Knight into two turnbuckles before hitting a superkick to win and hold. After the finish, Breakker stormed out and challenged Ziggler to a match at NXT Stand & Deliver. The Showoff accepted after the challenger laid out The Glorious One with a right hand. Selling Ziggler as a fighting champion, even a smart heel, was a smart move. He's unlikely to run for more than a month with the title, so he had to add at least one successful defense to his resume. Ziggler and Knight put up a solid fight, although the outcome was never in question. That would always result in Breakker calling for his match. He and Ziggler should be great together. Knight sold his rib injury throughout the competition and sold the effects of his final Last Man Standing match. Roode worked the ringside manager role to the full, selling the near falls with lively reactions the mat hard with a superplex for a tight near fall.

Raiders get high marks for multiple moves, Ravens add pass rushers

A breakdown of the biggest free agent signings on day one of league year 2022 (Author: Gardener)

RavensWe are now officially in the middle of the 2022 league year in the NFL. At 4 p.m. ET, the league has ushered in the new year, meaning teams can now make official all of their free agent deals they made during the two-day legal manipulation period, along with any trades that have taken place up to that point to have. Of course, there was plenty of action leading up to the start of the new league year, and several Superstars will officially land with their new teams on Wednesday. While it's technically day one of free agency, it's really day 3 when you factor in the legal manipulation period and the deals agreed upon over the past few days. In this post, we're going to look at the top new moves made on Wednesday and give our marks for those transactions across the league. The club signed outside linebacker Chandler Jones to a three-year deal reportedly worth around $51 million, and shortly thereafter traded fellow pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to the Colts for cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. The addition of Jones and Ya-Sin improves Las Vegas' defense in two areas. Jones is having one of his better seasons in the NFL in 2021 as his 87.7 pass rushing score per PFF was the second best of his career. Meanwhile, the former second-round pick at Ya-Sin is just 26 and allowed a career-high 56.5% reception rate last year. Ngakoue has traveled quite a bit in his career, but the pass rusher is still only 26 and should help a defense for the Colts, which was the 18th-best pressing unit in the NFL last year, according to the PFF. The Jaguars continued their massive spending spree Wednesday by signing cornerback Darious Williams on a three-year, $30 million deal with $18 million guaranteed. Ranked 17th on Pete Prisco's list of the top 100 free agents, Williams is one of the most underrated corners out there. The Jacksonville native will be heading home to try and help out a secondary who finished 31st in the NFL in the DVOA last season. Williams, in all likelihood, will start and try to build a 2021 season in which he allowed a 63.2 catch percentage that worked over Jalen Ramsey. New England signed cornerback Terrance Mitchell for the first time from the outside of the free-agent cycle, signing what was said to be a one-year, $3 million deal. When tackled by opposing quarterbacks, the veteran allowed a 62.9 receiving percentage and a 104.7 pass rating, according to the PFF. Kansas City are keeping their backup quarterback for another season and re-signing Chad Henne to a one-year, $2 million deal. While that start in Week 17 led to a loss against the Chargers in 2020, Henne played well, completing 71.8% of his throws for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Baltimore needed some help to rush the passer a year after finishing 20th in the press, according to the PFF. A healthy Smith should give the unit the extra spark it needs as he developed into a Pro Bowl and All-Pro pass rusher during his three years with the Green Bay Packers, posting double-digit sacks in 2019 and 2020. Smith He effectively missed the entire 2021 season through injury, but now that he's returned to full strength he will be a huge asset to Baltimore's passing rush. After reports that McKissic would be leaving Washington to join Josh Allen in Buffalo, the veteran running back had changed his mind and has since made an about-face to return to the Commanders. McKissic signs the same deal he wanted to get in Buffalo -- a two-year, $7 million deal. While the Bills miss a much-needed pass-catching threat from the backfield, Washington retains a key playmaker on offense. The 28-year-old caught 43 passes last season for 609 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns. The Raiders improved their defensive line in several ways on Wednesday. While the acquisition of Chandler Jones may steal the headlines, signing defense attorney Bilal Nichols to a two-year, $9 million guaranteed deal is a solid addition in its own right. The 25-year-old is one of Pete Prisco's Top 100 Free Agents and started 15 of his 17 games for Chicago last season. He hit a career-high 51 tackles in 2021 while also notching three sacks and five tackles for a loss. Nwosu is one of the most underrated edge rushers in this free agent class, ranking 47th overall in Pete Prisco's top 100 free agent list. After his former team, the Chargers, Khalil Mack landed in a trade last week, it seemed unlikely he would re-sign with Los Angeles. Then Seattle walked in and landed him a two-year, $20.5 million deal with a $10.5 million guarantee. Nwosu could become a replacement for free agent Rasheem Green. Last year, Nwosu had 40 total pressures and five sacks, which the PFF says will be a much-needed addition to a Seattle defense that possessed the third-worst pressure rating in the NFL.

Does Kyrie Irving deserve to be on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team?

The First Things First crew decides whether to include Kyrie in the 75th Anniversary team after his 60-point breakout. (Author: Gardener)

Kyrie IrvingOrlando Magic fans couldn't help but applaud Kyrie Irving's work in awe on Tuesday night. And despite the fact that Irving's 60-point championship came at the expense of their hometown team, Magic fans gave Irving a standing ovation as he left the court with eight minutes remaining. Had Orlando kept the tally tighter all night, Irving could well have scored more than 70 points by the end of the game, but his brilliance gave Brooklyn a monumental advantage at halftime. Tuesday marked Irving's second 50-point burst in three games while increasing his pointing average to 34.5 PPG in his last eight contests. He then went 20-on-31 (8-on-12 from deep) against Orlando en route to a franchise-record 60. Not to mention he scored a whopping 41 points in the first half. Irving is banned from joining the team for home games in Brooklyn because he is not vaccinated against COVID-19. This kind of production with so little lead time is anything but normal, but Irving has long existed in the eyes of the masses as a basketball anomaly out of the ordinary. Rarely does a player come with his combination of ball-handling magic, quick wit and ability to end around the rim, all packed into a frame less than 6ft 3. From a talent perspective, Irving is often considered one of the all-time greats. But his limited availability - whether due to injury or his more recent vaccine reservations - has marred his legacy for most. In Kevin Wildes' eyes, Irving is a top 75 player and should be on the NBA's 75th anniversary team in place of another all-time great. Kyrie averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. You can say, 'Reggie, you did a good job, but Kyrie is a better player than you and deserves to be in the top 75.'" Career-wise, Irving currently has more PPG (23) than average Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, and Chris Paul while having higher FG% (.532) than Paul and James Harden and better FG% on off-color shots than Leonard, Paul, Anthony, Kevin Durant, Lillard and Davis exhibit. Irving is a seven-time All-Star honoree, two-time second-team All-NBA honoree, and one of only nine players to have a 50/40/90 season. He is also one of two players to ever have a 50-nick Wright said he wouldn't dare push Irving into the elite club just yet. "I thought there was a moment [last night] where Kobe's 81 [points] might be in play," Wright said Moncrief skips? That's first-team and second-team All-NBAs, top-5 and top-10 MVP finishes." For Chris Broussard, however, Irving's greatness is undeniable. "He was probably only 70% of the player he was Could be," Broussard said of Irving's career, "But his decision-making -- leaving LeBron [James] in Cleveland probably cost him a championship. And if he had another on top of 2016's, he'd probably be on the Top 75 list. He led that team to underachievement when he was down. And then this year, his refusal to get vaccinated [also hurt his legacy]. But Kyrie is a first-choice Hall of Famer." Despite his talent and his slew of accolades, Irving remains at the top of the top 75. But more 50- and 60-point performances are sure to strengthen his case for the top 100.

What is Wellness Wednesday?

What is Wellness Wednesday? Find out what it is so you can start inspiring your employees to live well and adopt a healthy lifestyle. (Author: Gardener)

WednesdayWellness Wednesday is a popular weekly topic on social media. If you own a business, this concept can offer benefits for you and your team. Rather, many companies and organizations use the term independently to promote a healthy lifestyle in their own way. The term gained popularity in the early days of social media when brands shared tips and tricks under the #WellnessWednesday hashtag. But today, many workplaces use it to promote employee well-being. Promoting physical and mental health makes workers and society at large happier and more productive. The following section outlines some specific ways that Wellness Wednesday can teach people how to stay healthy in the workplace. Wellness Wednesday will share suggestions and inspirational ideas that promote physical activity, nutrition, good sleep, mindfulness and mental health. Sharing information and tips can help your team improve both their physical and emotional well-being. Eating healthy foods and staying active, for example, helps maintain a stable weight while reducing anxiety and supporting a positive mindset. Sharing these tips will show your team that you care about helping them maintain optimal wellbeing on multiple fronts. Wellness Wednesday isn't just about quick hacks for losing weight or improving your looks. Educating employees about good health can help them build daily habits that contribute to long and healthy lives. The idea is to share services and activities that everyone can participate in permanently. Learning new coping strategies and self-care tips can help employees manage stress so they can better focus on their overall well-being and the things they enjoy in life. For example, your tip for a week could be sharing meditation apps or leading a guided session. Then your employees can incorporate this information into their daily habits or use it to cope with stress when they experience it. It's hard to focus on work when you're not feeling well or dealing with constant stress. Health issues also often lead to lack of sleep, which can leave people feeling sluggish and unmotivated for most of the week. Practicing self-care and trying new wellness strategies can unlock the mental bandwidth necessary to be effective in everyday life. When your employees put into action the resources and training you share, they may be happier overall. This can help them stay positive while tackling workplace challenges and make your workplace a happier environment overall. Healthy employees are also better equipped to maintain strong relationships with family and friends outside of work. This healthier balance can help them stay engaged at work, as they are more likely to have the time and energy the rest of the week to attend to their children, hobbies, or personal life. Wellness Wednesday isn't just about sharing resources with individuals. Your team can also explore health-related concepts together and build a community around these activities. This can build stronger bonds, improve collaboration, and keep team members busy at work. So if your team takes your tips into account, they're less likely to call in sick. All of these factors can help them avoid burnout and live happier lives. The more your employees struggle with health issues, the more your company may have to pay for healthcare services. When your employees take care of their own bodies by eating healthy, staying active, and practicing mindfulness, they are less likely to suffer from long-term health issues that can have far-reaching effects. When your employees are happier and healthier at work, they're less likely to seek opportunities elsewhere. Overall, your goal should be to create an environment in which your employees can thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally. Wellness Wednesday is not just a trending topic on social media. Businesses can use this concept to create a true community among employees that will help them stay active, eat better, and live happier lives. Whether it's sharing simple tips or hosting events or activities, a focus on wellness can be highly beneficial for all types of workplaces.

Musician Jill Sobule finds inspiration in the news — and lizard people

Delightful is a pretty good way to describe Jill Sobule who has a solo acoustic show at 7:30pm. Wednesday at the Little Theater. (Author: Gardener)

Musician Jill Sobule"As a child," she says, "I wanted to drink and smoke cigarettes." "No, I didn't," she says wistfully. "There's still time, right?" she asks. Jill, take it from an authority. Sobule goes to the coolest dinner parties. And a new song in Los Angeles really paid off as she just finished recording a song she calls "a hate on love." "I was here in LA and as a friend of a friend who I've become friends with, I needed an extra female voice for the duet," she says. "I said, 'Will you come and make it easy for me?' And it's Debbie Boone. "You brighten my life" Debbie Boone. I'll have her sing a lesbian love song where she has to say..." Whoa, Jill! Let's just say Sobule got a woman who had a No. 1 hit in 1977 and who is also the daughter of Pat Boone to sing top-notch profanity four times in one song. "Yes!" says Sobule. "And it was adorable!" Adorable is a pretty good way to describe Sobule. She voiced a guest role on The Simpsons a few years ago. She knows all about lizardmen, the shape-shifting reptilian aliens that some people—at least a few—believe control Earth. 61-year-old Sobule grew up in Denver. And now, "I'm in my hobo phase," she says. "I still haven't figured out where I really want to live." Since she's phoning from Los Angeles, it's reasonable to assume this is her home now. But no, she's at a friend's guest house. But that was nine months ago. "The guest who doesn't leave," says Sobule with a sigh. She did the struggling artist-in-Brooklyn thing for a while. "And you met other artists who were struggling," she says. But now an artist has to pay to fight. "The same place I paid $600 a month for costs $4,000." "You don't necessarily have to be in the centers, the traditional creative centers," she says. Sobule Songwriting Tip #1: If she teaches songwriting classes, I tell everyone to keep a journal. Especially first thing in the morning when you're reasonably fresh or in a dream state.” Sobule Songwriting Tip #2: Newspapers. Sobule says she read somewhere that Bob Dylan reads the newspaper every morning for songwriting inspiration. That's good enough for her. "It's part of my life because I'm a political person and an activist," she says. "Even though it's things that don't concern my personal life — you know, I don't live in a war zone — I try to channel, that's what I spend my time reading and doing." Bob Dylan reads over lizard people? It's the outrageous beliefs that Sobule finds both fascinating and frightening. C., as a protest against the wearing of masks by the American people. Which we usually don't wear anymore anyway. Sobule has written songs about personal issues such as anorexia nervosa and LGBTQ+; she identifies as bisexual. She has also written about the death penalty and the French Resistance in World War II, which she has had no personal experience of except as a romantic dream for a cocktail waitress. More recently, she has also written about middle-aged love. And now she has a song called "Givin' it to the Libs" about conservatives who don't care if a belief is true - all that matters is pissing off liberals. "I'm fascinated by what we get as news and what makes headlines and what doesn't," she says. "What makes a person follow a cult or an extreme movement." These extraterrestrial beliefs collect in her brain as what she calls "a strange jealousy." Sobule has increasingly moved towards the theater, although it has taken a while. It actually started for her in fifth grade when she played Miss Hanukkah in a school play. "I was really good, I think." "Now, how many years later I'm here." She has written music for a modern take on The Scarlet Letter from the perspective of today's high school kids called Crimson Lit: A Scarlet Letter Playlet. "A lot of my songs always tell stories," she says. "Well, I think with theater writing, it's just more storytelling. It's not that different in a way.” And here's another new song, although the title isn't for a youngster's eyes; Sobule is very comfortable with the F-word. "I thought about the time in junior high school that you never quite get over," she says. “You know, I always say that maybe Freud was wrong. It wasn't the first days or weeks or months or years. "I wish I knew I wasn't alone," she says of her struggles in junior high. "I'm a cyborg," says Sobule. So she underwent brain surgery two years ago. "While they were in my brain, why couldn't they somehow implant music theory? And five years of Spanish?” Or explain why you just can't get some songs out of your head. Like Debbie Boone, it's been a while since Sobule's biggest hit. A lesbian love pop song. "It's a whole different generation, a world right now," she says. "I'm trying to say to these kids now, these college kids, back in 1995, it was like it was a hell of a big deal. It was bold, it was one of the first songs to hit the Billboard charts that had that kind of content." Sobule's record label was concerned about plans to have Sobule kiss another woman in the video. "And then they backed down at the last minute and got me with Fabio's baby." "And now nobody really cares." Doesn't care about two women kissing anymore. Or taking care of Fabio, for that matter.
