At AEW Dynamite last night, a huge title match was confirmed for their show next Wednesday as Scorpio Sky and Wardlow collided for the TNT Championship. (Author: Gardener)

Scorpio Sky is a two-time TNT champion after winning what he now calls "genius" in a grueling ranked match against Sammy Guevara on the April 27th edition of Dynamite. However, it seems that one challenger from his past wants a fair shot at the championship and that is none other than Mr Mayhem, Wardlow. Warlow is one of the most form-performing wrestlers on the roster with a comfortable 53-8 record and 14-2 in 2022, with losses credited to current AEW World Champion CM Punk and runner-up Scorpio Sky. Sky defeated Wardlow on March 16 with the help of Wardlow's former ally Shawn Spears and MJF distracted the referee and drove his head into the ring post before Sky clinched the victory via a rollup. Wardlow would get revenge and send his past to Double Or Nothing to decimate MJF after weeks of torment. Now he has a chance to win AEW Gold without distraction for the first time. The champion revealed in a backstage promo with Wardlow at AEW Dynamite last week that the match will take place next week and the condition will be a street fight. The condition could be Sky's worst decision, but the no-rules condition could help him retain a numbers advantage with the help of America's top team. You can watch AEW and AEW Dynamite internationally on FITE TV.

The biggest highlights, winners and grades from the brutal Blood and Guts match

Catch up on the full results, biggest highlights, winners and their grades from the special edition of the June 29th episode of AEW Dynamite entitled "Blood and Guts". (Author: Gardener)

BloodDays after the conclusion of the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view (PPV) event, AEW hosted a special edition of the weekly show AEW Dynamite titled "Blood and Door" on Wednesday night. The episode was dubbed the Main Event of the same name, which pitted a team led by newly crowned interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley called the Blackpool Combat Club against Chris Jericho's Jericho Appreciation Society (JAS). The show kicked off at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena with Dan Lambert talking trash about Orange Cassidy before Ethan Page took off. Cassidy and Page were then engaged in a match as Cassidy marked his return with a win after delivering a body slam and scoring the pinfall victory. After some more exciting stretches, the main event of the night, the Blood and Guts match, took place between the Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley and Wheeler YUTA), Eddie Kingston, Ortiz and Santana and JAS. The JAS consists of "Cool Hand" Ange Parker, Chris Jericho, "Red Death" Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard and Sammy Guevara. It is important to mention that the Forbidden Door PPV took place on Sunday. Moxley took the AEW Intermediate World Title at the same PPV. The segment began with Castagnoli and Guevara exchanging punches before the other wrestlers made their way. The match eventually ended at the top of the structure as Blackpool Combat Club, Kingston, Santana and Ortiz emerged victorious.

The footage of Sammy Guevara being kicked out of the Blood and Guts cage is seriously insane

Last night's Blood and Guts match on AEW Dynamite saw a truly insane spot as Sammy Guevara was shot out of the steel cage by Eddie Kingston. (Author: Gardener)

Last night at AEW Dynamite, the Blackpool Combat Club defeated the Jericho Appreciation Society in a brutal Blood and Guts Cage Match. However, a spot starring Sammy Guevara and Eddie Kingston may have stolen the show. The fight has been weeks in the making and this could be the potentially final chapter in the rivalry between Blackpool Combat Club alongside Eddie Kingston, Ortiz and Santana versus Chris Jericho's Appreciation Society. Blackpool Combat Club newcomer Claudio Castagnoli took the win after he deathlocked Matt Menard on top of the cage. The match had some great and pretty gruesome parts, the match was definitely not for the light hearted. However, it was Sammy Guevara who stole the show by selling a spot where he was thrown out of his cage and crashed through tables by Eddie Kingston. As you can see below, Guevara was thrown from the top of the cage and fell at least 30 feet, leaving a sinister smile on the face of Kingston, who was standing atop loving his salvation. This spot was one of the most stunning in the match, but the whole match in general is definitely one to watch as the intertwined storytelling and narrative really showed the bitterness of this long-running rivalry. Blackpool Combat Club victorious in Blood and Guts

At AEW Dynamite last night, the brutal Blood and Guts match returned as the Jericho Appreciation Society took on Blackpool Combat Club. (Author: Gardener)

This special Blood and Guts Edition from AEW Dyanmite featured a stacked card featuring TBS Champion Jade Cargill, Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page and more. Also, there was a huge main event between the Blackpool Combat Club and the Jericho Appreciation Society within Blood and Guts. Cassidy was looking to get back on track after losing to IWGP USA Champion Will Ospreay on Sunday night. However, he must face Ethan Page, who was looking for redemption after losing to Miro in the All-Atlantic Championship qualifiers at Dynamite a few weeks ago. Cassidy would soon pick up steam again, and as he tried to punch Page away, Dan Lambert kept trying to meddle but ended up getting orange juice in his eyes before Cassidy hit Page with multiple orange punches before hitting the power slam for the win . A new look, Luchasaurus, appeared in the ring to take on a terrified Serpentico. Luchasaurus would quickly finish off his opponent and win the match in minutes. The match was set up after Danhausen taunted Austin and Colten Gunn in Forbidden Door. Danhausen would reveal his tag partners as none other than ROH, IWGP and AAA Tag Team Champions FTR. The difference, however, came when Bowens miraculously got out of his wheelchair and missed Danhausen with the crutch, only to hit Austin Gunn, allowing Danhausen to take the win. After the game, tension grew between the Gunn Club and the Acclaimed, ending with Billy Gunn pinning his son Austin to the ground. Jade would show dominance again and quickly deal with her opponent, hitting her with the pump kick followed by the Jaded. After the match, Jade and Kiera Hogan fought with Kris Statlander and Athea. Athena finally wanted to get some sort of redemption for Jade, but to her surprise, Gray Cargill helped. The only way to win Blood and Guts is when all 12 men are in the ring after each member enters after 4 minutes. As the JAS won the man advantage at Forbidden Door it meant that Blackpool Combat Club had to fight multiple 2v1 scenarios. The match started with a great exchange of blows between Guevara and Castagnoli, with Guevara hitting a nifty cutter counter on his opponent that knocked the fans off their feet. The momentum would soon shift in BCC's favor as ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta entered the cage and made a German suplex spectacle. A great moment in the match occurred when former tag team partners Castagnoli and Hager faced the two powerhouses brawling each other. The violence of the match really took shape when interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley entered the fight and threw a chair in Hager's face before beginning the attack on each member. As the game progressed, it began to turn into a bloodbath as the majority of members of both teams were busted. In the closing moments, Jericho and Kingston fought on top of the cage and even Ruby Soho showed up to stop Tay Conti. Claudio followed up with a swing at Jericho before he and Kingston locked in submissions in stereo, resulting in Daddy Magic clinching the win against Castagnoli. Kingston seemed disappointed that he didn't win in Jericho but he finally paid his respects to Castagnoli who continues his momentum.

Title Match with fixed handicap; Royal Rampage announced

AEW Dynamite: Title Match with set terms, while Royal Rampage was also announced during the June 29 edition of The Wednesday Night Show. (Author: Gardener)

Royal RampageDuring Dynamite's June 29 airing on TBS Network, reigning AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky and Wardlow engaged in a backstage segment with Tony Schiavone. The dispute between Sky and Wardlow turned heated when Sky volunteered to defend his title against Wardlow in a street fight on the July 7 episode of Dynamite. "I'm done talking, I'm fed up. Bring every member of America's top team and I'll treat every single one of them like they're security guards and when I'm done with them I'll beat you and take that title home with me where it belongs," threatened Wardlow the champion. Sky hit back, saying, "Next week, you and I, for the TNT Championship, and since you're being so tough, let's make it a street fight." After that segment, the match was officially announced. Sky and Wardlow have been involved in a program related to the AEW scheme in recent months. Previously, Sky successfully defended their TNT Championship against Wardlow on the March 16 episode of AEW Dynamite. Sky, a two-time TNT champion, first won the title from Sammy Guevara last March. Guevara would then pin him for the title in April, but Sky would eventually reclaim the belt from Guevara in a ranked match a few weeks later. Aside from the title match announcement on Dynamite, a first-ever battle royale match called Royal Rampage was also announced for AEW Rampage this Friday. The two rings for AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts will be adjusted so that twenty contestants in those two rings can compete in an over-the-top rope challenge, with new contestants entering 60 seconds apart. The winner of this battle royal becomes the first contender for Jon Moxley's interim AEW World Heavyweight Championship, which he won at last Sunday's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The contestants announced for Royal Rampage go as follows: Frankie Kazarian vs. John Silver vs. Orange Cassidy vs. RUSH vs. Hangman Page vs. Konusuke Takeshita vs. Second Ring: Ring: Tony Nese vs compete against NJPW stars Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI. If the NJPW stars can win, they'll get an AEW tag title shot on a plus, Toni Storm will go head-to-head against Nyla Rose on the July 1 episode. Storm lost the Women's AEW Championship match to Thunder Road at Forbidden Door, but a win over Rose could put her back in the contender's position.

AEW DynamiteOrange Cassidy has brought back his fan-favorite entrance music from his indie wrestling days. Cassidy brought back "Jane" from Jefferson Starship on AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts tonight, replacing his previous tune "Where Is My Mind?". by The Pixies. Cassidy's last walk in the ring, to the music of The Pixies, was at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door last Sunday before his match with New Japan's Will Ospreay. Jefferson Starship and Cassidy's reunion has been a long time coming. AEW president Tony Khan had previously attempted to acquire "Jane" in early 2021 but had trouble getting in touch with the band. "It's not Jane," Khan wrote in a March 2021 tweet while teasing Cassidy's debut of his Pixies opening music. The fans attending AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville tonight will be the first to ever hear it before we go live on TNT!" Late last week, early reports began circulating that Cassidy was bringing "Jane" to AEW, which Khan got on nerves The AEW owner noted that he trusts his dressing room when it comes to "life or death," but isn't pleased that smaller details like Cassidy's new theme slip through the cracks People in the Daily's Place bleachers, when Amanda [Huber] told us that Brodie was sick, I know there's been a lot of new people here since then, but there's been a lot of people here, and a lot of them are the same people, although there's a lot new ones are faces and no one said a word," Khan said. "So when it's a matter of life or death, I trust the people backstage, but I've learned a lot around it, it just oozes out. Like people don't should do. Cassidy would Ethan Defeated Page in the opening match of AEW Dynamite, with "Jane" reverberating around Little Caesars Arena immediately after his pinball victory.

AEW DynamiteAll Elite Wrestling's Santana appears to have sustained an injury during tonight's main event match. Entering the Main Event Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite, Santana hit Jericho Appreciation Society's Daniel Garcia with a uranage but landed awkwardly on his wrist and knee. The match eventually ended with Claudio Castagnoli submitting Matt Menard on the covered steel cage seconds before Eddie Kingston would knock out Chris Jericho. Before the Blood & Guts match was over, Santana was taken out of the cage and helped up the ramp. Five of the six victorious competitors, Castagnoli, Kingston, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Ortiz, celebrated victory on the cage while Santana stayed off screen. Santana has been with All Elite Wrestling since August 2019. He made his debut for the company at AEW All Out 2019, attacking both the Lucha Brothers and Young Bucks with his tag partner Ortiz. About a month after their AEW introduction, Santana and Ortiz reunited with Jericho in the main event of the opening episode of AEW Dynamite, forming the Inner Circle with Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Jake Hager. The Inner Circle would implode last March when Jericho and Hager turned on Santana and Ortiz after the latter leveled allegations at Jericho's rival Eddie Kingston. Santana, Ortiz and Kingston previously teamed up in Impact Wrestling as the new iteration of LAX. While Santana is yet to win championship gold in AEW, he is a four-time Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion and has received three AEW Dynamite Awards in 2021. The details of Santana's injury remain unknown, but it adds him to what is unfortunately a long disabled list at AEW. It was at this pay-per-view that Adam Cole suffered a concussion and as a result had to miss tonight's Dynamite.
