Vince McMahonA look back at Vince McMahon, who is stepping down as WWE CEO amid misconduct allegations A look back at Vince McMahon, who is stepping down as WWE CEO amid misconduct allegations TV show "Smackdown" on Friday. "It's a privilege, as always, to stand before you tonight," McMahon told the crowd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. "Welcome to Smackdown!" McMahon then exited the ring while his theme song "No Chance in Hell" played. According to a Wall Street Journal report, he was allegedly having an affair with a former employee. On Friday morning, the company announced that McMahon has agreed to step down from his role as chairman and CEO while the investigation continues. His daughter Stephanie McMahon will serve as interim CEO and chair, the company said in a statement on Friday. It prevented the paralegal "from discussing her relationship with or disparaging Mr. McMahon," according to the Journal. Vince McMahon resigns as WWE CEO following hush-money allegations "Other, older non-disclosure agreements unearthed involving claims by former female WWE employees of wrongdoing by Mr. McMahon," the Journal said. Further allegations of misconduct were reportedly identified against John Laurinaitis, the company's head of talent relations. "I have also pledged to accept the findings and findings of the investigation, whatever they may be." McMahon added in the statement that he loves to work collaboratively and "is committed to working with the independent directors to advance our culture." "It is extremely important to me that we have a safe and collaborative workplace," he said. "I have committed to doing everything in my power to help the Select Committee do its job, including the Working together across the organization to support the completion of the investigation and implement its findings." As evidenced by Friday's appearance on "Smackdown," McMahon has been an integral part of WWE for decades, both as an executive and as a wrestler himself. He made the company into a global media powerhouse that currently has major broadcast and streaming deals with Fox and NBCUniversal.

For the first time since combining the top two awards in sports entertainment at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns established his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship... (Author: Gardener)

June 17thFor the first time since unifying the top two prizes in sports-entertainment at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns pitted his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Riddle in the Friday Night SmackDown Main Event. The Head of the Table's return to the square circle wasn't the most notable occurrence on the show, as Mr. McMahon made his presence known amid an off-screen investigation into alleged misconduct. What did McMahon have to say to the WWE Universe and was Reigns able to defend his championship against a very ferocious Riddle? Find out now with this round-up of Fox's June 17 broadcast of all time. As the product sometimes reflected, it was a bunch of hype for absolutely nothing. Riddle next entered the arena for a promo on Roman Reigns and their Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match later in the show. The WWE production team, who knew better than to let The Original Bro do the heavy lifting, aired an admittedly powerful video package to wrap up the main event. An ode to Randy Orton and a fiery conclusion ended a promo segment that went on far too long for Riddle to carry alone. Reigns, Paul Heyman, the Usos, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn or literally anyone else was in dire need of help with this. Riddle's unabashed love for Orton is fun, and he revealed the future Hall of Famer will be undergoing surgery soon, but this definitely felt like an entire segment that could have been condensed into a backstage promo starring Kayla Braxton instead something in front of the audience. F for McMahon performance, C for Riddle's promo. Riddle promised to play Orton's "Voices" theme if (and when) he wins the title in today's main event. The Last Laugh: Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin The match that was billed as the very first Last Laugh match for a week was actually, just another one-on-one match between Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin. There was no special condition, nor was there increased intensity as this was a feud ender. Instead, it was an easy match with Corbin dominating, only for Moss to fight his way back into the match and end things with two. consecutive punchline finishers. The match was good for what it was and the crowd was hot, but there was no reason for it at all. The feud ended in Hell in a Cell with Moss' eventual victory over Corbin, but WWE chose to quash it with another showdown. The post-game confrontation between Corbin and Pat McAfee suggests there could be a match between the two sooner rather than later. And therein lies the problem: we know what Corbin is up to next, and that feud will draw considerable attention on social media, but what about Moss? Where does the guy crucially booked to win the feud go? Perhaps that was the question WWE Creative should have answered here. At least McAfee vs. Corbin will be creative gold from an advertising standpoint compared Corbin to Jurassic World: Dominion, claiming they both thought they would be bangers, but actually weren't. After the match, Corbin clipped a promo for McAfee and took offense at his weekly reviews. Jinder Mahal and ShankyNew Day next battled Jinder Mahal and Shanky in a match that had nothing to do with increasing the tag team division and everything to do with showcasing the latter's new dance element. The action was nondescript before Xavier Woods played his trombone, motivating Shanky to stop beating Kofi Kingston and start dancing. The fact that two former WWE Champions were involved (Kingston and Mahal) and neither was treated as one. The same does not apply to half of the dressing rooms. Natalya clipped a backstage promo touting the Sharpshooter she promoted on Ronda Rousey last week, revealing the SmackDown Women's Champion isn't there tonight and vowing to win the title if they meet . All said and done, New Day was about an entire square circle Edge vs. Randy Orton WrestleMania 36 Match before the bell even rang. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus promo; Women's Money in the Bank QualifierWWE Official Adam Pearce joined Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in the square circle to reveal which of the fighters will team up with Seth Rollins in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on July 2nd. After some brief back and forth, Pearce called Sheamus to the game. A brawl broke out and after cooler heads prevailed, McIntyre was also called to the match. So... that was a segment that happened and definitely couldn't have been reserved for a quick backstage vignette. That being said, McIntyre and Sheamus are great additions to a match already promoting Rollins and numbers to add superstars like Kevin Owens and maybe Sami Zayn to the group. Say what you will about WWE Creative's summer state, but the talent, as always, is exceptional and will make up for it with an exceptional fight. Raquel Rodriguez attempted to redeem her ticket to Money in the Bank in a qualifier by battling Shayna Baszler while Lacey Evans watched from the commentary position. The contest winner would join Evans and Raw's Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan in the match. The competitive match ended with Rodriguez fighting his way through the Queen of Spades challenge to knock her down with the Tejana Bomb for the win. The result was obvious, sure, but it was the right one. Competitors are clearly going in two different directions, with Rodriguez appearing to be one of WWE Creative's key projects. A win here and her addition to the Money in the Bank match raise her star at a time when the company needs her. There will be some who question the company's inconsistent use of Baszler, and with good reason, but that's a similar task to pushing a boulder up a hill. Rather than revisit it, take comfort in the fact that the company is trying to create a new star, something it could do more often. C- for the Sheamus-McIntyre nonsense; C+ for Rodriguez' win "I wear a black tank top every day. I don't look like it," McAfee said of Jacked McIntyre. Evans' excitement at Rodriguez's win was a nice insight into her competitive nature. Roman Reigns returned to SmackDown for the first time in a month to defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship since winning it at WrestleMania 38. A floating bro from Riddle earned him a dramatic near fall, but Reigns regained control of the fight. Riddle fought his way back into the match, using Randy Orton's trademark mark to fuel his comeback. Reigns javelined him in mid-flight to secure victory and successfully defend the title in a great match. Then, in an unannounced surprise, the Brock-mad Lesnar returned to smash, crush and destroy F-5 The Bloodline, proving that clear loss not his troubles with Reigns are far from settled. Plus, WWE doesn't have another marquee match available to fill a stadium, so it's returning to the fountain with this special showdown. With a lack of available stars due to injuries, there are worse choices, especially considering the possibility of Seth Rollins winning Money in the Bank and recreating WrestleMania 31 all over again. Every competition that Reigns appears in not only gives the feeling of a big fight, but there seems to be a need to live up to the current level. Full-time competitors he clashes with. We've seen it here at Riddle, but his best matches as a champion have always come against Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Jey Uso. He even had a really fun TV match with Montez Ford last September. This was no different. Reigns worked overtime and delivered a truly amazing TV main event against a guy in Riddle who, like him or not, has become the workhorse for WWE. This was a coming-of-age performance for The Original Bro, and a statement from Reigns to his critics that he can still deliver bangers when the moment calls for it. The match was great and the return was an emphatic exclamation mark on the show. While it's broadly trivial, WWE had to kick this out of the arena to mitigate some of the more negative headlines that have dominated this week. Remember that time Sasha Banks and Naomi let fans down by not delivering a promoted segment? New Intercontinental Champion Gunther cut a promo for Ricochet, calling him the epitome of all things wrong with America. They meet next Friday night in a rematch of last week's title match. "It's very similar to Rock Bottom when you smell what I'm cooking," McAfee said, continuing his brilliant night with the headset while alluding to speculation of a WrestleMania match between Reigns and Rock next year in Los Angeles . The fall from the RKO was a great false finish and one that both Riddle and Reigns should be proud of.

Brock Lesnar returns after Roman defeated Reigns Riddle in the title match

Lesnar apparently still wants to return to Reigns after her WrestleMania fight (Author: Gardener)

Brock LesnarFriday night's edition of WWE SmackDown certainly drew unusual attention. When Vince McMahon resigned as CEO and Chairman of WWE following allegations of misconduct related to a sexual relationship with a female employee, WWE announced that McMahon would be performing live on the show. Add in a match between Roman Reigns and Riddle for Reigns' undisputed universal championship, and you had the recipe for a night that would have more viewers than normal tuning in. While McMahon's performance meant nothing but some ego-boosting, Reigns and Riddle put on a wonderful match before Reigns emerged victorious. Then Brock Lesnar returned and made it clear that he still had his sights set on Reigns after "The Tribal Chief" defeated Lesnar to unify WWE and the Universal Championships at WrestleMania. Undisputed Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) def. Puzzle via pinfall after a spear. After McMahon's opening segment (see below), Riddle came to the ring to show a video summarizing his troubles with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. The match went down as the main event of the evening, with plenty of drama with both men showing signature moves. This included Riddle stepping out of a Superman punch and kicking Reigns out of an RKO delivered as a counter to Reigns' spear. Riddle went for another RKO, which was countered before Reigns delivered the javelin to retain his undisputed championship. After the match, Reigns announced that there was no one left to question his place atop the WWE mountain. Before he could leave the ring, Brock Lesnar's hit music and "The Beast" arrived. Lesnar offered to shake hands with Reigns before delivering the champ an F-5 and then making the same move on both Usos as the show went off the air. Unlike the McMahon segment, Reigns vs. Riddle really showed he can go move after move with the champion, and the match had the live audience biting at every pin attempt. However, Lesnar's return feels more like the same thing, as WWE struggles to really find footing for Reigns' titular reign, which dulls the moment a bit. McMahon took to the ring to open the show to his theme song, "No Chance in Hell," and drew a mostly positive response before using some cheap heat by praising Minneapolis to blow the crowd. McMahon then reiterated the WWE motto "then, now, forever" before saying the most important word is "together." After repeatedly triggering cheers for the brief promo, McMahon threw the mic and exited the ring while high-fiveing fans on his way back to the entrance ramp. Every bit of that totally unnecessary opening segment felt like an excuse to let McMahon perform live and bask in the cheers of the fans as he faces allegations of misconduct for telling an employee he was having an affair with gave her a raise and then paid her millions of dollars to sign a non-disclosure agreement and walk away. McMahon temporarily stepped down as CEO and chairman earlier in the day, but this felt like an opportunity to step out and send a message that he was going nowhere and was still in control despite the news from earlier in the day. Happy Corbin via pinfall in a Last Laugh Match. After the match, Corbin interrupted the commentary booth and confronted Pat McAfee for making jokes about him. Corbin said if he didn't stop, he would throw McAfee in the ring and make him wish he were dead. McAfee then made the crowd "laugh Corbin from the arena." * Natalya edited a promo for Ronda Rousey, vowing to be the first woman to make Rousey tap when she challenges Rousey for the SmackDown Women's Championship on Money in the Bank. * The new tag def. Jinder Mahal & Shanky via pinfall when Kofi Kingston hit Mahal with Trouble in Paradise. * Adam Pearce announced that both Drew McIntyre and Sheamus would be in the Money in the Bank ladder match. McIntyre attacked Sheamus when Pearce announced he was in the match before finding out he would be included in the match as well. * Bank qualifier money - Raquel Rodriguez defeated.

Warriors stars Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green enjoy fourth NBA championship to "score differently."

With this Warriors championship, the appreciation for returning to the NBA Finals and winning is greater than previous experiences. (Author: Gardener)

Steph CurryBOSTON — Golden State started the season 24-5 and rose to championship contenders ahead of Christmas and the expected return of Klay Thompson from an injury that sidelined him for 2½ seasons. The Warriors were back, scoring and defending. From NFL games to college sports scores, all the top sports news you need to know every day. Injuries to Draymond Green, Steph Curry, Otto Porter Jr. and Andre Iguodala at various points and Thompson's uneven return put an end to those title ambitions. Phoenix continued rolling through the regular season, Memphis made a run, and the Warriors ended the regular season losing 16 of their last 28 games. Still, Green declared the Warriors the team to beat in the Western Conference during All-Star weekend. INTERESTING FACTS FROM GAME 6: Warriors Masterclass at Finals Closing Road Golden State entered the playoffs No. 3 in West. It beat Denver, Memphis and Dallas and then overwhelmed Boston in the NBA Finals. "We sort of hobbled into the postseason clearly saying, 'We have to peak at the right time', not knowing what our rotation would be like and what our chemistry would be like because that's what the situation called for." said Curry, who won his first Finals MVP by averaging 31.2 points against Boston. We've won 4 championships" pic.twitter.com/Mb58PMLLNu - NBA (@NBA) June 17, 2022 It's the Warriors' fourth championship into eight seasons and continues a dynasty that began with a title over Cleveland in 2015. And for the Warriors, that title, as Curry put it, "beats differently." it was, from injuries to roster changes, Wiggs (Andrew Wiggins) coming through, our young people who believe we can go back to that stage and win, even if it made no sense to anyone when we did said all of those things matter,” Curry said. Three years ago, the Warriors were a franchise in transition, largely due to an injury to Thompson and Kevin Durant's departure to Brooklyn in free agency. The Warriors finished 2019-20 15-50 and then Thompson suffered another injury that forced him to miss the 2020-21 season. Curry injured four hands of games this season and sat out the rest of the year. NOT READY YET: Celtics can't overtake their mistakes in NBA Finals loss The Warriors have had two straight seasons without a playoff appearance after five straight Finals. The front office, led by Bob Myers, began rebuilding the roster, adding Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. and bringing back Andre Iguodala. They stuck to a plan, thinking a healthy core of Curry, Thompson and Green surrounded by capable goalscorers and great defenders could make them a contender again. Lots of unknowns," said coach Steve Kerr. That struggle since the 2019 Finals resonated with the Warriors. As teams like Phoenix, Memphis and even the Los Angeles Lakers were promoted for a season, the Warriors were sidelined Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry are celebrating their fourth NBA championship as teammates."I distinctly remember some pundits and speakers putting up the big zero about how many championships we would have in the future because of everything we've been through," Curry Ins said To come back and win the finals, that's bigger than previous experiences, over the course of that series golden state showed they had answers offensively and defensively and their collective experience in the finals has been too much for the celtics in the last three games i just know how hard that is, and to be here for the fourth time, how so grateful for my teammates," Thompson said. "I saw it at the start of the season. I sa gte championship or bust because I saw us come out of the gate 18-2. And I played that very Warriors basketball that made us so successful, and then when I knew I was going to be put in it, I knew we had a chance to do something special, and here we are. it definitely hits different." They now have 21 Finals wins, more than any trio in the last 50 seasons.Without one of the three, Golden State's season probably won't be me won't end up like this." "We know what that takes. And rely on each other and rely on each other," Green said. "If I'm struggling in one area, Steph just won't try. The Warriors have a free hand and trades, but they also used the blueprint to select Curry, Thompson and Green. It's not easy to build like this and then maintain it." They talk about the structure of this team over the last eight years," sa Said Iguodala, "And I've said this over and over, these three guys have held this league in a stranglehold for a good while, in a headlock 'What they've done in this league and what foundation they've been able to build, you have to give them credit high. 100 years from now, you'll be talking about some of the best players and teams and foundations, and these three guys created a template for how to build a championship pedigree." What we learned from the Celtics-Warriors 2022 NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 103-90 in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals to secure their seventh championship in franchise history and fourth in the last eight seasons. (Author: Gardener)

the Celtics-WarriorsThe Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 103-90 in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals to secure their seventh championship in franchise history and fourth in the last eight seasons. One of the most dominant trios in the NBA in recent years, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green led the Golden State Warriors to basketball immortality again on Thursday night against the Boston Celtics. Winning their fourth title in the last eight seasons, this all-star trio cemented the Warriors' legacy as one of the league's greatest dynasties, and their performance throughout the year was special. Three years ago, Kevin Durant tore his Achilles tendon and Klay Thompson tore his cruciate ligament at the 2019 NBA Finals, resulting in the Warriors losing the Finals. Many thought this would be the end of an era for Golden State, especially since Durant left the team on a free hand, Thompson missed the entire 2019-20 season due to ACL recovery, and Curry suffered just a few games into the new year from a broken hand. The Warriors finished 2019-20 15-50, the worst record in the NBA and their worst record as a franchise, having won just 12 games as the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1952-53 season. The following 2020-21 season saw Klay Thompson sit out another year after tearing his Achilles tendon, Draymond Green was sidelined for some time with nagging injuries and Golden State failed to secure a playoff berth and lost in the Western playoffs Conference. In the tournament. The 2021-22 season had a chance to be something special for the Warriors as almost everyone started the year healthy and Klay Thompson would eventually return. The dominance this team showed against the Celtics during that series was legendary, and after being down 2-1 and a scenario where they could go down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, the Warriors never looked worried and were able to win three consecutive wins against one of the best defensive teams in the league. Stephen Curry is now a Finals MVP for the first time in his career, and while they've won three championships before, this year's title definitely holds more meaning for Curry, Thompson and Green, especially given all the obstacles that have come their way in recent years got in the way both seasons. The Golden State Warriors are now back at the top of the NBA and here are some of the biggest takeaways from the 2022 NBA Finals. Winning four championships in eight seasons is an incredible feat for the Golden State Warriors and that feat promptly closes them one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history. If you look at the first title of this group in 2015, Stephen Curry was only 26 years old and both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were 24 years old. The defeat in the 2019 NBA Finals meant a tough "reset" for the Warriors, and not just because of injuries. , but because many teams in the league were beginning to catch up with them. The lack of depth and the sudden disappearance of the Warriors' youth due to the aging of Curry, Thompson and Green was definitely a worrying sight. Management and owners have done a fantastic job during this franchise's dark years of 2019-2021, putting the pieces in place to ensure they can be a competitive team in the 2021-22 season. Everyone knew this team could be really good when they were at full strength, including the Warriors, but very few believed that they could return to the NBA Finals and actually win another title. Well, here we are, the Warriors have won another title, and not only with their now veteran core of Curry, Thompson and Green, but also with their wealth of young, up-and-coming talent. Former No. 1 overall and 26-year-old forward Andrew Wiggins has been absolutely fantastic for the Warriors all season and postseason. Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II were both in the G League not long ago and have proven to be key parts of that championship equation this season. Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody barely played in the postseason, but they both showed tremendous potential during the regular season in their rookie years. While this era is still led by Curry, Thompson and Green, this wealth of young talent in Wiggins, Poole, Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman and others will slowly but surely begin to take the lead and be the new faces of the Golden State Warriors as they appear to be championship contenders for at least the next decade. At .500 a year in 50 games, Boston looked like a team on the verge of missing the Eastern Conference playoffs overall as teams like the Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls rose. From that point on, the Celtics finished 26-6 in the regular season, earned 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, and advanced 12-6 in the postseason to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010. There were actually respectable people in the league who were urging the Celtics to rebuild their roster and more specifically they wanted the team to have their all-star duo of Jayson Tatum, who is 23, and Jaylen Brown, who is 25 years old split years old. R. Smith forgot how much time was on the clock in the 2018 NBA Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves twice passed Stephen Curry in the 2009 NBA draft and the Charlotte Hornets traded Kobe Bryant to Vlade Divac in 1996. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are two of the better two-way wings in the NBA right now, and as young as they are, reaching the NBA Finals this season was a huge accomplishment for them and the Boston Celtics as a whole. The Celtics are a long way from rebuilding right now and heading into the offseason, they are ranked #2 in the league, behind only the Golden State Warriors! With a handful of draft capital over the next few seasons and plenty of trade exceptions to play around with, Boston will be back in the playoffs next year and will undoubtedly be a team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins are all the best players in the Warriors roster and they all led this team at different points in the season, but perhaps the most important player on the team is Kevon Looney. Not only is he the definition of consistency, but Looney really bucked up in this year's postseason when it mattered most by rebounding for a career-high 22 rebounds in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Memphis Grizzlies and really impressive offensive play Glass all postseason long. Not to mention that Looney has played in all 82 games for the Warriors in the regular season and has played in all 22 playoff games for them this year. That's 104 games Looney has played this year! From defending bigger, stronger centers in this league, to being able to switch to guards and wings on the rim, to the ability to bounce off either end of the court, to actually proving he can be a starting center in this league, Kevon Looney has done it all for the Warriors this season. The Warriors wouldn't have been a championship contender this year without Kevon Looney, and with his play at both ends of the court, he really has proven himself to be one of the better "glue guys" in the entire league given his ability to hold things together for the golden state. He may be short for a center and may not be the most skilled big man in the league, but Looney plays the role perfectly and is a three-time Warriors champion as a result. If we learned one thing from the 2022 NBA Finals, aside from the fact that the Warriors are a dynasty, it's that the Boston Celtics really need some help for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Andrew Wiggins really did a fantastic job defending Tatum throughout the series and pushing him out of his comfort zone, making the Celtics' offense almost non-existent at times. Brown can only do so much on his own when Tatum isn't hitting shots, and vice versa, which is why the Celtics' main goal in the offseason should be adding talent across the board. Boston ranked 26th in the league in bank scoring during the 2021-22 season and in the NBA Finals their bank averaged just 20.7 points per game. This includes points scored in "garbage time" when the game was already decided at the end of their bench. The Celtics have a handful of trade exceptions they could capitalize on in the offseason, and they'll likely need to if they're to prove they can actually win a championship with Tatum and Brown. Every championship team is led by all-star talent, but they always have important weapons around them. Every team in Celtics history that has won a title was built this way, and the team the Celtics just lost to in the 2022 NBA Finals was built this way! With a little more depth and production from their bench, the Celtics could easily become the best team in the NBA and win a title.

We originally planned to stay at a campground outside of the park, but at the last minute we got a chance to snag a spot at the North Pines campground in Yosemite. **Be sure to visit the Yosemite website and learn about the new permitting process for entering the park!! Staying at the park gives a whole different feel to the experience and I highly recommend it! The first day we got there it was pouring rain and the weather showed that the whole week should be like this. Luckily, the weather in Yosemite is unpredictable at best and after that first day, we've only seen rain once more. It was beautiful and perfect weather for hiking and exploring. We highly recommend allowing 1 week for your Yosemite vacation. Here is our recommended list of things to do during a trip to majestic Yosemite: Mist Trail Top Things to Do in Yosemite Our favorite hike was the Mist Trail all the way up to Nevada Falls and then down the John Muir Trail. This was a difficult hike with an elevation gain of 2000ft over 3 miles and the total trail was 6 miles. You'll start on the Mist Trail and hike up these impressive granite steps that will take you right next to Vernal Falls. You then make it to the top of the falls where you can look down over the lush greenery and the path you just hiked up. This is also a perfect place to rest and grab a snack before continuing to the top of Nevada Falls. If you don't want that, you can choose at this point to turn around and go back down. Once at the top you have a fantastic view of Nevada Falls and Yosemite. You'll walk trails where you'll be rained off the cliffs, switching backs for stunning views of the waterfall. On the way down we even saw a bear right on the trail! At one point you will come to an intersection where you can decide whether to descend the granite steps you walked up next to Vernal Falls, or choose a different route and follow the John Muir Trail. We choose the John Muir Trail to discover new landscapes and avoid the slippery stone steps on the way down. We have done many hikes and this one is at the top of our all time favorite list! I won't call this a hike as it is a short natural loop that takes you to the mighty and beautiful lower Yosemite Falls. Given how beautiful it is (especially in the spring when the water is really flowing), it's worth it even if it's busy. If you only have one day in Yosemite, make sure to do this easy hike! Located in Yosemite Village, the museum hosts rotating exhibitions focusing on artwork and artifacts related to Yosemite's history. **Be sure to visit Yosemite National Park's website to learn when the road to Glacier Point opens each season.** Glacier Point can be hiked or driven to. This time we decided to drive. Please note that you usually need to get there early - by 9am or show up late in the day to get a parking space. Parking is limited and I understand on a busy day you are not even allowed to drive up there to try to park. I believe you can also sign up for a tour of Yosemite that would take you here. The main attraction here is the view at Glacier Point. It's great and you look down into Yosemite Valley and can see Half Dome and Nevada Falls. But luckily they rolled right out and it was amazing. There are also other areas you can stop in for a slightly different view and there is a visitor center with a shop and small cafe. You could spend about an hour just walking around and enjoying the view. If you prefer a guided tour, check out this one that includes a stop at Glacier Point!. With multiple stops along the tour and hiking opportunities, this tour lasts approximately all day and showcases the famous sights in Yosemite. things to do in yosemite - taft point hike This is a great hike to do on the way down from Glacier Point. It's a 2 mile loop hike that takes you to Taft Point. Taft Point overlooks El Capitan (one of the famous rock climbing spots) and down the valley below. In other words, once you get to this part of the hike, don't let your kids run ahead! If you want a different view and no cracks, you can opt for the Sentinel Dome hike, which starts at the same trailhead as Taft Point, but you walk right instead of left. My parents did this hike and they really enjoyed it. You can also opt for a guided tour. Check out this sunset hike at the Sentinel Dome that includes a sunset champagne toast! Unfortunately we missed that as it was raining at the end of the day so we decided to just return to the caravan to hang out and have beers :). But we've heard good things about it and it's an easy way to see a beautiful waterfall. You can check the Yosemite NP website for updates.** An iconic view in Yosemite that you don't have to hike to. You just park and walk to the Vista. Note that it can get very busy so parking can be difficult later in the day. There is so much going on in Yosemite Valley! But go to the Pioneer Village in the Pioneer Yosemite History Center area and nobody is there. It was a fun village area where they brought together a variety of historic homes along with stagecoaches to show you what life in Yosemite used to be like. Well worth a visit and it was a nice walk through a fun covered bridge to get into the village where you can walk around and read about the buildings you are looking at. This is where Big Trees Lodge is located, so if you're looking for a fancy dinner experience, do it here. There is also a small visitor center where you can learn more about the history of the area. Big Trees Lodge is also home to the Big Trees Golf Course. So if you want to hit the links in Yosemite, this is your place. A strenuous 8-mile uphill hike is required to get to the top of the falls. Or you can just hike a short half mile to approach the lower part of the falls. Then it says at the foot of the Trail Head Mountain Lion Area. You can get very close to the falls and they are amazing. Note - we were there in late May and I know the falls get smaller as the summer progresses. Stop at the visitor center to ask directions to the swimming hole and if they think the river is safe for swimming. Then you can make your way back to the Big Trees Lodge store, grab some beers and snacks, and settle down for a riverside break before heading back down the valley or to your hotel. This area where you can see a grove of giant sequoias was closed when we were there. However, since we had already seen all the amazing giant Sequoia trees in Sequoia National Park, we were fine with that. I would definitely recommend planning a trip to Sequoia and King Canyons National Park when visiting Yosemite! A beautiful and much less crowded area of Yosemite that sits at about 10,000 feet! On the way we stopped at the lake and there was still snow on the ground! We parked at marker 19 - we drove by a few times before realizing this was the trailhead. Not much else was open in this part of the park but I believe in the summer there is a visitor center and snack bar area. If you're looking for a less busy part of Yosemite, this is it! But again, if you're looking for fewer crowds and a more laid-back part of the park, Hetch Hetchy might be your spot. Supposedly before the reservoir was laid in the valley floor, this is where the valley floor reflected in Yosemite Valley. It's sad to imagine that all the beauty is under all that water, and to think that if there were two Yosemite Valleys to visit, it would have been a lot less busy. . .Nevertheless, it's still a beautiful area. There is a fun hike that takes you over the dam/bridge, through a mountain and right next to a waterfall (you literally get sprayed by the water). It's a 5 mile hike but much of it is flat (some hills at the end). Definitely glad we made the trip to Hetch Hetchy and highly recommend it. This is the river that flows through Yosemite Valley. You can find random "beach spots" to play in the water (watch out for the current) or if you want you can rent a raft or kayak and float down the river! If guided tours are more your thing, there are certainly many on offer and I would recommend checking with the visitor center when you arrive for current offerings. Or visit this website and pre-book your tours during peak season: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/tours.htm The Valley Orientation Tour lasts approximately all day and gives you a wonderful experience, Yosemite to be explored under the guidance of an expert guide. Or depart from Groveland, California and marvel at the beautiful scenery on the Giant Sequoia Trees Tour. This tour also includes an audio guide and lasts approximately all day. If you are looking for more things to do in Yosemite, read this post: Yosemite Day Hikes. If you are in the San Francisco area, the Yosemite National Park tour offers round-trip transportation. You will visit many of the places mentioned above such as El Capitan and the Bridaveil Falls and enjoy a full day adventure. Another tour option from San Francisco is the 2-Day Yosemite Park Tour, which includes an overnight stay at Cedar Lodge. This tour will surely give you more time and flexibility to explore and enjoy the stunning scenery. If you're in the San Jose area, the Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias Trip offers round-trip transportation. You'll visit many of the famous stops I mentioned above and have time to take lots of photos! This full day tour includes 5 hours in the park to explore, relax and enjoy! If you are in the Lake Tahoe area, the full-day tour provides round-trip transportation. This tour includes a picnic lunch, 6 hours of exploring the park, and a stop at the O'Nelly Deli for dinner on the way back. If you prefer an off-road adventure, check out this jeep tour that explores the remote areas of the Sierras. You'll stop at Bass Lake Vista, venture out into a secluded Sequoia grove and take a hike to see the Bull Buck Tree! Note that on a busy summer day (just about any day in summer in Yosemite) you'll likely have to wait a good 30 minutes in line to order. The beer here is pricey, but if you're ok, take your pizza to go and find a bench or other place to eat. Another option if you don't want pizza is the Village Grill. The prices aren't crazy and it's a nice way to get a meal and sit outside in the village and eat while people watch. Hint: When eating in the village, the squirrels are fearless and crazy! We heard a squirrel jump onto a children's table, grab a slice of pizza and run away. There is also a cafeteria area as well as some fancier restaurants in hotels throughout the park. We stayed at North Pines Campground and it was great. Take advantage of these nights and stay at a campground or somewhere in the park. We also had great Verizon signal at North Pines Campground. Curry Village in Yosemite is another option and there are other Yosemite camping options in the park. It is recommended to park your car in the Village Visitor Center parking lot early in the morning. Then just plan to ride the shuttle all day. Or if you are staying at the campsite you can go to the front of the campsite and hop on the shuttle there. Or if you feel like it, you can walk to many places from the campsite. Surprisingly, there is a strong Verizon internet signal when you are in Yosemite Village. It doesn't work everywhere in the park, but if you're in the village and have Verizon, you'll have internet and cell phone service. Works great in the heart of the village, but that's about the only place. We highly recommend getting the Yosemite Moon Guide before you come. It's packed with great information to help you decide which parts of the park to explore. Check out this great post for more information on visiting Yosemite National Park with kids. If you're looking for more fun in the area, check out this great Bass Lake California travel guide. We have visited many national parks and Yosemite came in at #3 for us. Backstage news of concern over Vince McMahon's SmackDown appearance

Several people within WWE are reportedly concerned about Vince McMahon's planned appearance on tonight's episode of SmackDown. (Author: Gardener)

Vince McMahon'sIt's just after 1 p.m. on the East Coast this afternoon and the story of Vince McMahon's resignation as WWE CEO and Chairman continues to gain traction. A big part of that is because McMahon will also appear on tonight's WWE Friday Night SmackDown and will reportedly address his temporary absence. As it turns out, some in WWE are very wary of what that address might entail. Fightful Select discussed McMahon's planned "SmackDown" appearance and other details about his stepping down as CEO in a detailed report early Friday afternoon. They confirmed that McMahon will continue to pursue creative responsibilities for WWE, noting that multiple sources within WWE were frustrated with this decision and therefore believed McMahon's retirement to be superficial. That seems to back up a report by CNBC's Alex Sherman, who pointed out that McMahon's resignation and his replacement by his daughter Stephanie McMahon as CEO was ultimately little more than an "optical play" to ensure McMahon remained in control about WWE. As for McMahon's appearance on tonight's "SmackDown," Fightful noted that they could not confirm the in-character aspect previously reported by Sherman. One Talent Fightful spoke to thought McMahon's performance was "a cheap ratings ploy in the middle of something serious" and therefore believes WWE's culture/presentation will remain the same and that McMahon will largely be in charge. Sources from several WWE departments also told Fightful they were trying to tell WWE executives, and possibly McMahon himself, that appearing on tonight's "SmackDown" would be a bad idea. A source long close to McMahon explained that the current scandal is the biggest threat to McMahon and his power in WWE since his acquittal. Finally, Fightful also confirmed Sherman's earlier report that the "SmackDown" script was torn up last night. In their report, Fightful noted that multiple sources had told them they were still awaiting a script for tonight's show.

Vince McMahon shut down WWE SmackDown after stepping down as CEO and chairman amid investigations

Mr. McMahon will address WWE fans. (Author: Gardener)

Vince McMahonVince McMahon to address fans on SmackDown (Image: WWE) WWE has announced that Vince McMahon will appear on tonight's episode of SmackDown. The show aired just hours after confirmation that the 76-year-old businessman would be replaced by his daughter Stephanie McMahon as CEO and chair pending the board's investigation into the alleged conduct of John Laurinaitis and the head of talent relations. In a brief statement, WWE said: "Mr. McMahon will appear on SmackDown tonight." In a press release, the board said McMahon "voluntarily stepped down from his responsibilities as CEO and chairman of the board pending the completion of the investigation." He will "maintain his role and responsibility in relation to WWE's creative content during this time" while his daughter Stephanie has been named interim CEO and interim President. Stephanie McMahon will replace her father as Chair and CEO (Image: WWE) Vince said: "I have pledged my full cooperation with the Special Committee investigation and I will do everything I can to assist the investigation. Stephanie added, “I love this company and am committed to working with the independent directors to strengthen our culture and our company; It is very important to me that we have a safe and cooperative workplace. "I have committed to doing everything in my power to help the select committee complete its work, including the collaboration of the entire company to support the completion of the investigation and implement its findings." It claims the investigation began in April and has reportedly disclosed other legacy Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) relating to allegations of misconduct against Mr McMahon and Mr Laurinaitis. The board said the allegations were being taken "very seriously" while there would be a "full review" of the company. They said: "WWE and its Board of Directors take all allegations of misconduct very seriously. "In addition, the select committee and WWE will work with an independent third party to conduct a comprehensive review of the company's compliance program, human resources function and overall culture."
